I keep coming back to this image, and realizing how, 8 years later, I still wish these were actual movies. Are there any backstories for these guys? If so, I'd love to hear them. I've heard descriptions on others, and these guys have so many stories to tell and so much material to work with. Same goes for the other ones. Who knows? Maybe they could even be in the descriptions so people don't have to scroll through the comments and piece them together.

That's an incredible compliment.Β Honestly, my brain is all over the place.Β I go from horror to heroes to scifi back to horror.Β Β I never land on or complete and entire thought.Β It's ridiculous, but normal I suppose, since I'm not pursuing any actual goal.Β I would love to see anyone take one of these potential slashers and run with it.Β Even if I don't benefit.Β Β
I suppose, let me to an off the cuff ramble....
Ike & Tyke:Β Inspired, I'm sure, by Basket Case.Β An ingenious trilogy.Β The idea is that these two are conjoined, but Tyke can remove himself and commit murder and rejoin.
Umpire's Kiss:Β This is basically the tale of an Umpire or BBall player killed in some accident or cruel way, who comes back for revenge.Β aka Jason in an umpire suit
Boomer:Β Definitely a kid, maybe special needs, who was bullied into lighting a fireworks display that was far too dangerous.Β He comes back for revenge.
Tomahawk:Β Not necessarily a story here, but inspired by the native american from Neon Maniacs, Creepshow 2 and other flicks.Β
Nurse Bloat:Β Not sure how she came about.Β She was a nurse at a psych hospital.Β She was either murdered or killed herself.Β
Popstar:Β A Brittany Spears type singer who was killed by her team for money...she's not finished....
ArborJack:Β I was originally looking for another "holiday" inspired killer.Β Arbor day stood out.Β Lumberjack's stood out.Β I have since seen 2015's Lumberjack Man, so this one is a no go.Β
Boppo:Β I think I needed my own, original killer clown slasher.Β But sooo many have been executed perfectly.Β So I was hesitant to try.Β I guess this one is a clown who was killed in some way that he needed revenge for.Β So he jumped off the autopsy table and started killing.Β Maybe too close to Stitches, now that that brilliant movie has been released.Β
Soooo, thank you.Β I needed a bit of creative catharsis.Β That provided me with it.Β

i find this interesting here considering one of my series superheroes is inspired by Rick Taylor, and atleast 3 of my villains are inspired by horror comics.

That's a great idea.Β Though after researching Nightwolf, I don't think they are too similar after all.Β He looks more similar to Thunderbird from the X-men.Β Mine looks more like Tonto or Turok.Β For those characters who tap into the cliche native american look.Β

I always have a great time browsing your designs Lord, I don't know how you maintain such levels of originality and creativity, while also managing to always bring your creations to life with verve, humour and colour, but it's inspiring
Your characters would be perfect for likes of a show like Rick & Morty or Venture Bros, and I'd personally love to see even 1/10th of them run riot all over the screens of YouTube and TV

Popstar is really weird but I think my fav are ArborJack and Tomahawk because I like countryside and Indian legends related stories.

Am I wrong or is your shading different here with Boomer and Nurse Bloat. Are you trying something new or have just never noticed? I really like the faint airbrushing look.

I do try some new stuff with photoshop here and there. I use the gradients occasionally when needed. With the firework burns and the rotting bloated skin, I felt they were appropriate. Most time I am just too lazy or impatient to apply gradient to everything.

Umpire's Kiss, that's a good one! Really, you have a wonderful idea when it comes to creating Original characters, that isn't always as easy.
