A faery of the Seelie Court the Court of Light. She dances among the butterflies, a faery queen of both Summer and Light.

I wished to try to paint a faery, to try a new topic !

I read a very good book called "la sève et le givre" ( Sap and frost) from a french author Lea Silhol which is based upon the Scottish Folklore of the Seelie and Unseelie Courts.

I wished to try a serie of faeries from both courts : Summer and Spring being faeries of light and of the Seelie Court and Autumn and Winter being faeries of shadows and darkness and of the Unseelie Court .

The approaching summer instantly brought up in my mind this picture of butterflies flying in the warm summer breeze and of a faery dancing among them !
