Sadly, this never really happened. I would have liked to see more of her interactions with Splinter and the turtles. This is a beautiful substitute.Β

The look in Leo's eyes...Β His tenderness towards Karai.Β Her complete breakdown in his arms while the others look on in sorrow.Β This picture is soaked in emotion!Β Even the colors lend to the mood.Β Great pic and rendered by one with a deep understanding of grief.Β

The first time I saw Karai and when I heard that in one episode that Master Splinter had a daughter, I knew that Karai had to be his daughter, even after season 1's finale, I knew that it was going to open a whole new character development for Karai as she slowly starts to suspect and learn and laster find out that Splinter is her real father, and with this picture, I feel like it perfectly captures what could have happened if Karai confronts the Turtles and breaks down into tear after finally accepting that she has been living a lie, her entire life and seeks embrace with to the ones who have freed her from that lie. It would have been nice if season 2 focused a little bit more on Karai, but I still like the way they when with her character... And the scene where the turtles return to the Lair with Karai and sees Splinter, and hugs and embraces her real father after all these this so powerful, I always tear up a little. Β

Iβm so glad Iβm not the only one who predicted that Karai was Splinter/Hamato Yoshiβs long lost daughter. Seriously, as soon as Splinter mentioned that he had a wife AND daughter, I had a premonition that the daughter was going to turn out to be alive. (Basically because in no other universe does Hamato Yoshi have children). And I definitely knew it when he told April that his daughter would be about her age now. So when Karai first appeared, I knew it was going to be her. I guess thatβs also why Iβve never been very comfortable or supportive of the whole βLeo/Karaiβ (or Leorai) shipping.
Personally, I just really wish they would have spent more time having Karai, Splinter and the turtles bonding together. Seriously, just ONE episode of her talking with Splinter and hanging out with the turtles. (And maybe even April and Casey.)

I don't understand how they're related (haven't watched the show)
This is a gorgeous picture, I love it to bits! But I never got how it worked.
I heard it was because she's Shredder's daughter or something, but even then why is it only Leonardo she's related too since the boys are adopted?
To anybody who watches the show, this probably looks really stupid, but can somebody please explain xD ?

She is Splinter's biological daughter, stolen and raised by Shredder. And the turtles got the human part of their DNA from Splinter when they mutated so they and Karai are kinda related on the biological level.

but how could Karai be Splinter's biological daughter? I'm a big fan of the 2003 series and i haven't watched the 2012 one, but it seems just wrong. Splinter has never been a human, he was a pet of master Yoshi, and Karai was an orphan found in a totally different area of the world

The Yoshi/Splinter character(s) seems to change depending on which rendition of the TMNT franchise you're into.Β Now I didn't follow the original comic so I don't know what happened there, however, in the late 80's cartoon, Yoshi is human mutated into a rat and calls himself Splinter.Β This was thought to be a little too sophisticated for the 1990's movie and Splinter was simply Yoshi's pet rat who was mutated.Β Β This is also the case for theΒ 2003 version (Splinter remains as being Yoshi's pet).Β Now for the Nick. 2012 rendition, Yoshi is human mutated into a rat named Splinter. I hope this helps.

I tried, but I can't :/ I can't help the feeling that every once awesome show is now so simplified... TMNT is not the only one, same with Teen Titans (vs TT Go!) or Scooby Doo

I know what you mean and I agree, but that's one of the reasons I liked the new Nick series in the first place, I like that it offered plotlines and characters at least more complicated than your typical children's cartoon nowdays. The show still suffers a lot from the need to make it sell as much merchandise as possible and there are a lot of issues with writing overall but you can't deny that people who made it really love TMNT. It's not as good as the 2003 series when it comes to continiuty and character developpment maybe but I'd say it still has its advantages.

She was actually Splinter's child he thought burned in the fire with Tenshang, and "some" think she is related to them due to Yoshi's (Splinter's) DNA crossing with turtle DNA in their mutation...Β Best. Logic. Ever... Β
