I went to a formal wedding on New Year's eve. I was waiting in line for a drink at the reception with my camera down at my side, when this mime came over, stuck his face in front of the lens and i snapped a pic, while the cam was still near my knee. He was so impressed at my "sieze the moment" attitude (and he liked the pic), he wanted to do head shots as well as other conceptual ideas with me.Many ideas flew to mind, but i really wanted to capture a Beckettian sense of emptiness and lonliness....as i become more into the art thing, i seem to slip into this void often and without avail...and it is I that cannot use words to speak of this solitude.

The setting and subject are wonderful. You were very successful in portraying the feeling of emptiness with the prespective of the shot, the building seems big and empty. The mime in the corner is small in contrast to the building and gives the feeling of loneliness. This is an excellent composition.

I simply love the building, the way everything is one color and suddenly it's interrupted by this little person, after awhile of looking at it, he begins to blend in as well, at least for me and that adds to the idea of solitude...as if he's all alone and no one remembers him anymore so he fades away. Great idea and a good job carrying it out!

"DEATH TO ALL MIMES!!! Especially NEWYORKCITY Mimes!!!! May they all..each and every one be caught gathered with their "loose change" and their makeup kits kneeling on the grass in the middle of Central Park and let 100,000 yellow taxi cabs converge on them with speed and deliberation and let these yellow containers of multitudes of ethnic immigrants and their engines of eclectic transportation ATTACK!! Let them leave not one mime alive..Let them be ground into the grass and mud of the park and then let them be forever sodded over by Park Maintanence leaving no visible mark to recall the event and let no mimes ever never ever be seen again .

Amazing shot, but i specialy liked your comment (all your comments are good in general). Reading about your moments of artistic inspiration inspires me as well... i love the way you look at things as magical moments and how you then put it into words. In some way it builds up the "aura" people say gets lost with mass-cult and gives me like a nostalgic feeling that makes me appreciate the piece much more. Thank you.
