Description
The night was dark and still, the moon shining bright and the stars twinkling clearly. For some ponies, the early risers, it was the last peaceful hour of sleep before they were awoken by the light of the sun. In a bakery-turned-home peculiarly shaped like a gingerbread house, a certain small pegasus filly had no such intention to wake up so early, and was sleeping soundly in her bright pink cushioned bed. She was deep in sugar-filled dreams when a light tap on the shoulder intruded the borders of her unconscious mind. She barely stirred, so the tap turned into a prod, which in turn became an awakening shake.

Smart Cookie: *whispering* CC! Wake up!
CC: *groggily opens eyes* Nggg... What do you want big sis? ..Celestia hasn't even brought up the sun yet...
Smart Cookie: I know, it's early, but, would you like to help me bake cookies for mom? For her birthday today? *yawns* We gotta make 'em before she wakes up, so it's a surprise.
CC: *at the mention of baking with her sister she's wide awake and buzzes out of bed* Okay! Let's do it!!

Smart Cookie: *pouring flour mixture into mixing bowl* Mmm there's the last of the dry ingredients mixed in! Now, what's next? *looks over at CC expectantly*
CC: *hovers in the air* Chocolate chips! *flies to cupboard filled with all sorts of candies and grabs a large bag of chocolate chips, then glides back over to mixing bowl and pours whole bag in*
Smart Cookie: Excellent. I'll go check to see if mom's still asleep, can you stir the chocolate in?
CC: *eyes go wide in awe of receiving praise and a task from her sister; nods and starts stirring determinedly* (I will not make an Undertale reference I will not)
Smart Cookie: *goes upstairs*
CC: ..... *finishes stirring* Hmm.. Mom really likes her sweets... These cookies should be extra special just for her! *flies back to sweets-cupboard* Let's see... *grabs another bag of chocolate chips, some marshmallows, and coffee powder and adds them to the mixture* Oh! *moves to refrigerator, and grabs a lemon* Lemon juice makes everything fancier! *squeezes a few drops of lemon juice into dough and stirs vigorously*
Smart Cookie: *trots back downstairs* All clear! Let's get these scooped and into the oven!

~Later~

Pinkie: *laying upright in bed with tray of cookies and a glass of water in her lap* You baked these for me, all by yourselves?!
Smart Cookie and CC: Yep! *wide smiles*
Pinkie: Ohhh, my girls! *side hugs each of them in turn* Thank you both so so sooooo much! They look delicious! *shoves a whole cookie in her mouth, her eyes go wide* *muffled exclaiming as her mouth is full, swallows and recovers from the flavor*

WOW!! They are delicious! Superfluous! Delectable! Supercalifragalisticexpialidocious! *grabs another one to eat* Try one yourselves- enjoy the tasty fruits of your labor!
Smart Cookie and CC: *each grab a cookie*
CC: Happy Birthday Mom!! *smiles sweetly and eats cookie* Mm, zesty!
Smart Cookie: Happy Birthday! *eats hers* ........... *eyes go wide from the unexpected taste, and forces self to swallow* CC WHAT DID YOU PUT IN THESE

Sorry this took so long, I had trouble figuring out what to do with the story to go with the drawing haha. Just a little cute sister bonding and sample of CC's talent. The treats she creates are certainly for acquired tastes. Good thing her mom has acquired all tastes haha. Obviously CC is a filly here, but I'm not sure if the drawing makes it noticeable that Cookie is younger here too- after all she's only 3 years older than CC.
