2 things: the imperfection on the bottom is distracting, I'd crop from it.
2nd: I'd go for a 'real' b&w (maybe some color added afterwards), not this "some-green-noise-on-the-left-some-purple-on-the-right" stuff.

Das ist so ein Photo, das ich immer gerne gemacht hΓ€tte, wozu es dann aber wegen diverser WeidezΓ€une, dem nicht durchgΓ€ngig vorhandenen Nebel oder auch mal wegen unverzeihlicher Kameralosigkeit nicht gekommen ist.
Also Danke, dass Du da warst, als es dieses Photo zu machen galt!

Such poetry in this photo itself, a poem goes right with it! I love how the tree is standing alone in the white mist that has put a veil to it, and the lines of the field leading us right to the tree and back to the forground. Lovely composition, thoughts and message... The tree is almost a character in this image not just a object. Great piece.

It's surreal and in a way inspiring. I would not change anything but the fact that it's physically impossible for me to run toward the tree and rest against it for a considerable amount of time.

basically what everyone else said...and i'm sure it was your intent, beautiful design, balance, and overall concept...especially how the rows become receeding lines directing your eye to the ghostly tree...rhythm, fluidity, and a bunch of other words i learned in my graphics design class...
