Description In a casket draped with our nation’s flag, lies a U.S. soldier. He wears my uniform, my flag, and my first name. He served his country with honor and courage. He was a good man, and an even better soldier.

I envy him, he has seen the end of the war on terror, and has died the way I wish too. Not of cancer, not on a deathbed, not of old age, or heart attack, or by accident, or of cowardly suicide, he died with a roar in his chest, and fire in his eyes. He died a hero.

Saluted by his comrades, missed by his family and friends, he will never be forgotten. His death was not a defeat, but graduation into a heavenly place. Under God's loving wing, in God's tender hand. He now knows only peace.....
(read my 23march04 journal entry for more details)

p.s. please +fav this, so all of devart will experience this.

p.s.s. anyone who dares think this is "overly patriotic" do me a favor and keep it to yourself.

It has been a while since I have looked at this photo and every time I do I think of the sacrifice the men and women of our arm forces make in service to our wonderful country. Thank you very much again from sharing this photo with us. Simper Fi Brother

One of my uncles died during the battle of Passchendaele in 1917. Obviously I wasn't around at the time, but I was taken to his grave just last year. God bless

It is a noble thing to serve one's country, voluntarily. Those who do not make it back are, will, and forever be sorely missed.

If there is anyone who believes this could be called "overly patriotic" truly dose not know what the meaning Patriotism is.

*shivers*
Another useless victim in a useless war...
And as you can see in the background: Life goes on. Business as usual.

Thx for showing the true face of war.
