shading in pen makes your stuff unique to you.
I always know it's you when I see pictures shaded this way, even before I scroll down to see what you've written.
(got to be hard to color it though.)

Well thank you, that is a good thing, right?
And yeah, it gets hard to color. The goggles were the worst because there were shaded parts connected to the black strap (that I didn't color) and his hair >_<
Then there are those hairlines where the pen-shading meets that I have to pick out

yeah, it is a good thing.
your style struck me as odd the first few times I saw it, but I quite like it now.
I would have a problem with a lot of white areas I didn't want if I colored my pictures your way.
(my method isn't exactly easy though, I always have to erase and redo all my lines during the process.)

*laughs* yeah, it is kinda a good thing isn't it?
(somewhat unusual for me, but definitely good.)
actually, I hand draw everything I put up, that isn't clay, I just don't have good enough coloring tools to be happy with hand colored work.
I only have two programs I really use, MS paint, and an old copy of Corel Photo house.
(I'm very good at convincing those two programs to do what I want of them.)

WOW 0_0
You're really good then.
I'm pretty okay with Paint now, but it likes to play hardball sometimes. They should really add a blur tool (I crave it. I used to have it years ago in a photo program and now I'm dying without it but I don't want to switch to gimp)
I don't hand color anything for the same reason. I don't even have a full set of colored pencils, my collection is of serval boxes mixed over the years 0_-
My crayon collection could fit in one hand.

I am?
I just thought I was determined.
a blur tool is something I'd like sometimes.
I was trying to do a gradient and it's fighting me like nothing else I've ever done, blurring would probably solve the problem.
I ran out of black pencil crayons a while ago and it'd kinda help to have some if I decide to hand color anything again.
(I'd still have to clean up my lineart on the computer though, I just can't get a pencil sharp enough for the size I draw.)
one hand though, that is a very small collection.
are they all nubs too?
(just the last bit before it's sharpened out of existence.)

Yes, you really are that good - and determined.
Do you use the old version of Paint? Or the newer one? (because Paint.net IS free, though it takes up a bit of space) and it has a gradient tool, as well as a blur option (I used the blur option to make the clouds in a different layer)
I used to use the blur tool (not that one in the options, but something like a paintbrush) so much while I was mashing pictures together before I made my own - I was a kid and did it for personal enjoyment, never to post or anything.
I'd LOVE the blur tool. It's heaven.
And no, the colored pencils arn't short, as I gave up on them. Everytime I sharpen the ones I have, they break right away. And not the point. It breaks from somewher futher inside the wood, so I have to sharpen it even more, then the same thing happenes. Its infurriating.
And as for my crayons. I know I have a VERY big green one... and an orange and yellow. Maybe I coudl make something for halloween with the, but that's it

well, thanks. (I've never really gotten comments like that before.)
I did, but when I got a new computer the new version of Paint came with it.
a gradient tool... I can see where I might have fun with something like that, if it doesn't fight me too much.
(I can create a gradient with a new program my mother installed but, it won't do what I ask of it, it just flood fills the background with a gradient no matter what I do.)
I've never worked with a blur tool before, and, come to think of it, I've only done layers twice. (I'm not sure I'm quite ready for layers and complicated stuff.)
that sounds like cheap pencil crayons. I had one that split and the lead shattered, that was not a well made pencil.
I don't remember the last time I picked up a regular crayon to color something, those are just too difficult to keep control of.
