Nice, a prop has no value with no use so I'm glad someone found one.

A Kasha... which is a demon.

That's incorrect in this case.
In touhou, kashas are cat youkai, both in their appearance and origins. As explained in Rin's article of Symposium of Post-mysticism a kasha is a cat who became youkai after eating corpses or phantoms. So, both nekomatas and kashas are just different kinds of cat youkai in Gensokyo.
In other sources and tales, kashas are still depicted as monstrous cats-like youkai or(in some older tales and paintings) even like a flaming cart pulled by demons.

Strange... In the Touhou Bestiary about Kasha , It states the it is a demon with a feline form that swoops down in a sudden gale, which grow stronger until it carries away the deceased to take them to hell or eat them.
Since it says "with a feline form", Kasha aren't actually cats but they just look like them. Though, I think this is simply a problem of inconsistency.

I read it too and think that's only the "general" description and folklore about kasha in real world and not of Gensokyo's counterpart, since isn't followed by "Kashas in Touhou" just like in other articles of the bestiary. Maybe they forgot to add this, or maybe the wiki's article was written before Symposium of Post-mysticism and they didn't update it with the new infos.
What's more odd is, if you read the article about Cats, Rin is actually listed among the examples in that bestiary ^^

Okay... Doing more research about it, It's not a problem of inconsistency. It turns out that Rin is literally a cat, This is because her Subterranean Animism profile straight up say that she is and that comes before all the other information. So, You are right that I'm wrong in this case. Though, I think she mainly is a cat to serve some purpose to why Satori can own her as a pet.
that aside, Even though I did change Rin from a cat to a demon in my Gensokyo verse, I'm going to keep her a demon since she never really acted like a cat for what I know of her.
