Description Sterling silver cast flower using the lost wax method, brass recycled watch gears riveted on to flower. Mildly steampunk. Handmade by me.

rivet the gears... BRILLIANT. I have so many of those little watch gears, and I've been trying to think of ways besides soldering to attach them to other metal. You are a genius.

Yep, if you use hard silver solder, you anneal the little gears, and they bend too easily, and I try not to use soft solder. That only leaves mechanical fastening. If you get the rivets right, you can have it so the gears can still spin.

very cool! I used some extra easy solder paste for a few projects, it was reeeeaaally tedious.
