Thank you! I think them ladies have two choices: go with proper armor (well, that's light, but quite protective) or without (like in the clans). It freaks me out how they get giant pauldrons and are very protective with their shins, and then keep belly and chest (of course) naked. I don't know about nerds out there, but real armor won't keep me from appreciating boobs π
Yes, big blonde girl is Lily.Β Please, explain me the nordic thing, I'm really bad at determining my own influences in most cases π first prototype of her actually looked like some sort of pirate slut, and evolved in later months... wait... years... damn.
I'm going to colour this thing sooner or later. I have irrational fear to ruin it because I should not use watercolours on dry technique paper but I did it well, I'll do it again.Β
I guess I'm in for sunday evening random ranting. Just forgive my prolixity and stay tuned. π

That is totallyΒ exhilaratingΒ Β made my evening!
Anyway, according to Matt Easton, most fighters could afford nothing more than a gambeson, which is actually a good protection. Lily wears no plate or mail here, because she's not in the first line anymore. She's a wrecker and an infiltrator so, paddings and boiled leather. I think she's almost sexier all geared-up than in her underwear
I tell you, the knife is ripped directly from... many different knife makers on youtube, who apparently all like that model crazily. Wide blade and window (skull) breaker got me in the end
I think Scandinavian people, along withΒ Anglo-Saxons and Celts, mostly went withΒ knotworks and more curvy, beast-like decorations, but it's not like I possess a vast culture on this matter. About the shape of her clothes, I'll have to trust you entirely.
I'll go to some printing shop to get another work of mine scanned, so I'm going to ask them if they can make copies on proper watercolour paper. Otherwise I'm using the original. It's not that difficult, I only have to be very quick with brushes, and much cleaner than I use to, like I did on little Mary of the Alder. I will add a very simple background as well, to conceal the dirtiness of the sheet and notice you when the whole thing is done .

Yep, depends a bit on the time period though. In some stages of the Middle Ages, it was common for soldiers to be provided with hauberks, all paid by the lord or whoever they were fighting for. In the Dark Ages, I know that all or most Nordic cultures didn't have this system and you had to pay for it yourself. Some people didn't even have a gambeson, they just fought in their tunics. Iron was very expensive.
Curvy decorations, snake-like (wyrm), yeah. That's mostly on furniture, tools, jewellery, walls and shields. I meant the checkered patterns on the hem of her clothes; this was done by Dark Ages cultures, especially Scandinavians. It's called "tablet weaving". Trust me, I'm a Viking Reenacter
Ok, good luck!

What's more fun, search for re-enacter clubs in your area. Then you'll probably get a good fight out of it, too.

Thank you! Well, the fundamental feature of any character should be uniqueness, I mean, what's the good in making them all look the same, when it is only their gear or other external elements differentiating them? They have personalities, and deep physical differences to top that. I have just started introducing some of them π and yes, I plan on colouring these two, even on this awful dry technique paper. I can do that π

Well, I started making something up with Typhon, I love how his imagination runs fast and washes in dark waters, but really, I don't want to see them die so young! Anyway, I'm sort of sloth-minded these days, heat won't let go and August tends to be sad in Milan, although it is the most quiet of times. You'll get to know their story, by the way, and those of the many other carachters living in my mind since... oh, just too many years now Β

The story is quite deep and sad, for a videogame. I would advise more or less every single bioware game, from Baldur's gate to the present day, in particular Neverwinter Nights and all three Mass Effect. And Dragon Age Origins, of course. And if you like old crappy graphics and Star Wars, take a look at the Jedi Knight franchise. Superb gameplay, in my humble opinion.
Kotor is beautiful, I didn't even know it existed, and that it is called Cattaro, in Italian! Montenegro... for some reason, the name made me think of Indonesia... hope we are talking about the same town

ahah likely the game I've spent most time playing and replaying, alongside Oblivion and Skyrim... and the editor... I don't consider it cheating, as long as you keep it fair. So you should definetely get Dragon Age Origins full modded. You'll love it!
I'll visit Montenegro one day, but Slovenia first. That is a land of dark forests and wonders.

Gahd, I have to play so many games but my laptop is old and slow as shit now. Saving up for a new one. About time too.
I almost went to Slovenia. Really bummed about it. Went to Vietnam instead. You Europeans! Have all these great places you can visit in such a small continent D:
