Hi do you draw these by hand or use a program? I've just bought some equipment to start making my own, yours are exceptional and an inspiration! Sam.

hi Sam Thank you so much! Β  I use a compass to make my circles. With the huge ones I`ve been making recently, the compass only goes so far. Β After that I have to measure (half inches) put little marks, and then connect the lines. Β I also use a ruler (with a 45 & 60 degree angle, to draw my lines cutting through the centre.) Β But yeah, all by hand. Β No computers for me; all traditional, all of them

This looks awesome. How much of this is do you plan before starting? It looks like there must be a lot of math involved.

hi Ordinary Fella I don't plan anything beforehand. I make the circles with a compass, than use a ruler to draw some lines and divide the circle in parts to help me out than after that I just see what shapes I want to fill it with. Just going circle by circle

I'm really bad in math, always glad to see I don't really need it

Well thats a relief. I don't think I could do this kind of work though. I smudge everything I touch.

haha, well, me too. I tried my luck with a ballpoint pen (see black and white, just posted yesterday I think). it's nasty. I'm soo happy somebody invented micron pen, because really, it dries as you put down a line. I love 'em.
Hey.. wouldn't it be a nice thing to try though? Make a circles, and see what happens? go on, you can do it. Merpa tried it too

I'm naturally a mess wherever I go. There is a reason why I went for abstract painting as a style.
