Description A digital painting I did in Photoshop 7 with a Wacom Graphire 3 tablet and a mouse. Completely the default photoshop brushes.

This was a real learning experience for me because I just found this little 1000 pixel wide photo of a soldier and decided to paint it at 6000x10000 at 300 DPI. Had to really teach myself how to do it. You can probably see different areas where I did things a little differently or more detailed. Maybe 20 hours total over a few months.

excellent! worth every moment of patient careful work.
my only crit is that his skin-tone seems a little grey...

also, you should - if you can - credit the photo you used for reference.

Thanks

I shall try my best... I'm not really the person to ask though cause I think I did this the hard way
But I shall try

Note me about it.

That's really impressive at preview size - when you look closer, the brush patterns get inconsistent and distracting...but that's a detail that can be fixed in later paintings. For now, just revel in your awesomeness

WOOT!

Yes, I think I might have combined maybe 4 or 5 different combinations of brushes and brush patterns. Probably because I'd sit for 2-3 hours at a time then not touch it for 3 or 4 weeks and then do another few hours. I'll bet most of the experienced painters here would call something like this a speed-painting... but it defiantely tested my patience and wasn't very fast. But I'm pleased.

I shall revel
Thanks a lot!

Thanks a lot

And, yea... although the huge size provides for the addition of detail and preservation of a good resolution, the file's size kinda tested my patience and my computer's abilities. Took forever to load and save so I had to do a bunch before I saved it.

thanks again
