OMFG >< DDDx I finally finished this
I orignally intended to use this for my methods and materials assignment but it was taking waay too long so I just put it off. All up, I think 50 hours on Photoshop CS with my mouse to complete this DDx Gah
Buut, I'm glad how it turned out mostly. ^^ There's a few mistakes in there. >< Iaccidentlyleftoutpartorpiersandshebascostumepleasedonthurtme. >< I will gladly take critique Dx But yes, I do know that my skills with lighting are bad, and the skin is done pretty badly too but those are not my forte Dx
ANYWAY, since it's completed, I will now put it off for several weeks and not look at it and then when I'm ready I shall correct all mistakes that have been pointed out o_o;

Oh and if you haven't noticed my colouring style has changed. It's not so pastel like in a few of my earlier pieces are oo; Aaaand I've noticed how crappily done the faces are Dx So my drawing style has changed too =\

I love the Golden Sun games! (but I could never fully complete it...>.< Darn secret levels!) Your coloring and positions are really neat, but I'd work on the pointy faces a bit...they're all the same it's kind of awkward. But still good nonetheless.

You're welcome! The pointy chin is good for accenting some characters, but when used a lot it gets a bit wierd. Oh well, every artist goes through phases.

I like it. It looks better in color. However, their chins looks a little too pointed and their heads look like their about to be detatched from their necks...0_o Good job, thought.

What's Goldun Sun?
No, seriously, are these the characters from the GBA games? I've heard of Golden Sun, but haven't sat down and played it yet.
As to the actual piece itself... incredible coloring. The only critiques I would have is on the line drawing itself. I'll go and put that on the original though. You said that your skills with lighting are poor but on a picture like this I don't think it matters TOO much. You have a good general illumination pattern. Sometimes it's bad not to be able to tell where the light source is. If you had the light to the side, the characters on the other side would be in shadow; if it was front and center, the front two characters would be washed out while everything in the back is in shadow. So foregoing realistic lighting patterns in favor of detailed shading for a group picture like this was a good choice. I mean, the highlights and shadow are there but more for each character... understand?
Overall, it might not be professional quality but it is certainly on the right track.

So I'm waking up an old thread to say that because of this picture, I went out and bought the game. I have high hopes for it if you spent so much time on this single piece. If I am in any way disappointed, you'll have me to answer... if I ever get around to visiting that side of the hemisphere.

Don't worry, you're safe. Another reason I bought it was because I had heard of it when it first came out but didn't know anything about it. For some reason I thought it might be and action RPG, like Sword of Mana. But now that I played it for an hour or so yesterday, I see it's your good ol' RPG with some nice twist. It's an amazingly detailed game considering it's GBA; then again, I'm always nostalgic over the 16-bit era and the Super NES. Squaresoft had some of there best titles during that time and Golden Sun reminds me of that innovation. And being a complete-ist, I try to play a series from the beginning but I look forward to playing "The Lost Age."
