Description The Slaying of Jormungandr:
In a time before the lands of Jotunheim were frozen over, a gargantuan beast had coiled itself around the northern lands. A primordial serpent of ashen scales and crimson eyes, an apex predator no giantess or god dared to challenge, for its sheer size and weight was unfathomable and its power undeniable. But in the midst of the chaos sown by its every movement the very mountains were flattened, and the people cried out to the inner gods for salvation, only it was not them who answered the call, but a frost giantess known only as Laufey.
Given the blessing of raw strength by the Inner Goddess Angrboda, and an axe forged by the legendary Sigyn, Laufey stormed the northern valleys in search of he Beast's head, carrying the weight of a hurricane in her hands as her Axe became wreathed in stormclouds and splintering lightning. Stormkeeper, the crucible upon which the heavens and the sea melt together into a weapon so powerful that each strike calls forth the might of its namesake. With her legendary weapon did Laufey sunder the very valleys, bringing its full weight down upon the colossal serpent that sought to devour the Holy Tree of Jotunheim. Each swing was like the falling of a meteor, as Laufey sundered the Beast's ivory scales, tearing apart its hide as it slithered around the land causing mountains and valleys to crumble into dust. For three days and three nights did she toil, fighting restlessly as the colossal beast attempted to crush and devour her time and time again. But in the end, it was Laufey who ascended as the victor, bringing the full weight of a storm down upon Jormungandr's neck and slicing off its head in one final, legendary blow.
"Hark, ye in despair! For the sounds of storms bringeth the visage of a true champion! Laufey, Serpentslayer! Bane of Monsters! Let your name be praised unto eternity! And let your Might be celebrated unto the end of time!" The people chanted in the giantess's name, praising the power that poured out of her every muscle like the gospel of the saints. Thus did the champion Laufey halt the great calamity, the great serpent known as Jormungandr; severing its head and throwing its gargantuan carcass into the sea, where the mermaids of the deep devoured its very flesh. For this monumental achievement, Laufey was deemed more than worthy to serve as Angrboda's chief of Arms, earning her place among the Council of Jotunheim not by virtue, but by strength.

Praise begets Pride:
Everywhere she went, Laufey was the subject of great praise and admiration. Giantesses, men and mer, everyone looked up to her as the great slayer of Jormungandr. The towering champion of Jotunheim who's might rivaled the very gods of Endheim. But unlike other heroes of the world, Laufey did not bear a single trace of humility. For in her eyes her strength made her superior, her body a temple to be worshiped just as the princess Hel though of Herself. A sentiment shared, for both giantesses harbored great pride, and deemed others undeserving of their attention yet expected unfaltering worship at their feet. Such was the sin of Laufey, to expect her very presence to grant her the attentions of mortals. Even more so as she was made Mistress of over the city of Berenike, to the immediate south of Jotunheim. And that it it did...
For the men of old were of a simple mind, and sought to worship at her feet religiously; often forgetting about the gods to instead pay lip service to a giantess who's hubris was higher than the clouds. Much like Hel, Laufey owned many slaves in secret, often meeting with the princess to be worshiped alongside her; away from the eyes of Angrboda who believed such behavior to be Blasphemous. Indeed Hel and Laufey shared a bond of domination, withing together at the expense of those who's minds were consumed by their image.

An Allegiance with Hel:
Throughout the centuries, Laufey and Hel would become very close, sharing in the domination of men like sisters. They trusted one another completely, and Laufey knew of the many struggles that plagued Hel's mind. For the princess was deeply troubled, resenting her mother and father for enforcing laws she deeped unnecessary and demeaning. "Should the jotnar not be worshiped? Are we not owed praise and admiration?" Hel constantly argued, as her mother did not support Hel's vision. A vision of a world where men and mer are slaves, bound to the whims of her kin. But unlike her mother, Laufey shared this desire, and thus the two were quite ready; waiting for an opportunity to arise in which to seize control. Or perhaps, a moment where patience would run dry...
Such a time came in the year 100 of the first Era, when the council of Jotunheim gathered before Angrboda to perform the switching of the crowns. It was during this event that Hel's patience finally ran thin, and she snapped, killing the god Loki and the Inner goddess Angrboda, sending the region into a scarlet skied state in which every law placed by Angrboda was undone. During the whole endeavor, Laufey pretended to be afraid of Hel, and witnessed the brutal killing of Gullveig as well as dozens of Jotnar Guards who attempted to stop Hel. Thus, in her lie, Laufey fled the castle only to return once Hel had murdered Skadi, coming to kneel before her intimate friend and to swear her undying loyalty to her.

Once this was done, Laufey became Hel's right hand woman, serving as chief of her army and given the right to execute anyone found guilty of treason. Also allowed to assist Judgryn in the herding of slaves, Laufey lent a hand in the subjugation or annihilation of men and elves throughout the region, forcing mortals to toil under Hel's tyranny while greedily abusing hundreds of innocents for her own selfish pleasure; for that was her reward. A cruel pastime she came to share with Hel and Judgryn. Such were the ways of the new goddess, a world in which strong giantesses like Laufey would take advantage of anyone they wanted. A land without mercy, without restraint, where mortals were naught but slaves, and oftentimes food...

The Recruiting of Gerdr:

The Battle for Jotunheim:

The day was the 26th of Rosenna's Rise, 566 of the First era. A day of war, forewarned by the eyes of Hel that scoured the surrounding lands for military activity.
Heeding the word of several of Hel's spies throughout the lands, the Goddess stood at the gates of Jotunheim alongside Laufey, Judgryn and Gerdr, marching towards the frozen lake to the southwest as an attack was anticipated to strike from that direction. As head of the army, Laufey lead the troops out of the city in a rectangular formation. A massive army of frost giantesses, each armed with weapons of enchanted ice and very few wielding blades of steel, for there wasn't much they could do without Sigyn among their ranks.

"Are you sure the spies were to be trusted, Goddess? It's almost the fourth hour and there has been no movement past the horizon." Laufey asked as the army grew impatient after three hours of being deployed.

"Be patient Laufey, they're out there somewhere." Hel stated as she squinted towards the southwest, attempting to harness her magical energies after being exposed to the light of the trees of Dunn for too long. "As soon as the battle commences Laufey, I need you to keep an eye out for Sigyn. That treacherous viper has eluded my wrath for almost three centuries now, so if you see her, destroy her. I will reward you greatly, just to have her head."

"With pleasure." Laufey eagerly stated as she sharpened Stormkeeper.

"Goddess, Look! To the west!" Judgryn shouted hysterically, noticing a bright cyan light suddenly flare up over the hills. The goddess and her army immediately turned towards that direction, only to be instantly blinded by the birth of a star. A light so bright and powerful that it seemingly darkened the holy tree at their backs, splitting the sky and revealing the slumbering form of Vho'Daresh as the blinding comet flew over the entirety of Hel's army, striking the gates of Jotunheim with such force that it completely decimated the western wall, killing hundreds upon hundreds of jotnar as the surging cyan flames melted their icy skin into puddles of water and blood. Deafened and in a haze, Laufey rose from the snow to see a large portion of her army dead. She turned towards Hel and watched as she attempted to raise her troops back from the dead using necromancy, but as soon as her eyes gazed upon the west, she knew the true size of the rebel armies; as Sigyn charged into battle ahead of hundreds of jotnar intent on taking back the city.
"Rise ye exalted, and bear witness to the hubris of our enemies!" Laufey boomed from the front lines of Hel's army as her finest warriors stood at her side yet again, ready to defend their home and their way of life until the bitter end. "On this day we send a message to our enemies, that no god or giant shall ever make us fall! That no weapon forged against us shall make us kneel! Witness us, ye gods, and tremble at the might of Jotunheim! For Hel! For Jotunheim!" Laufey shouted as she stood, leading her army to face Sigyn's, ultimately clashing at the center of the frozen lake.
It was then that Laufey's power became manifest for all to see, for it had been centuries since she last fought true enemies, and now was the time to demonstrate to all who the strongest of the Jotnar truly was. It was an awakening of a long dormant lion, how Laufey charged into the battlefield and struck down jotnar after jotnar; cleaving giantess after giantess in half as the unrelenting force of stormkeeper was unleashed on the battlefield. Laufey, the slayer of Jormungandr, let loose on the surface of a frozen lake as hundreds of enemies attempted to take her way of life, her home. "Bear witness, to the might of Jotunheim! Know that on this day it was Laufey who cast you down to the depths of Tartarus! Know that on this day you take in your last breath! Fall at my feet, and weep, ye accursed!" Laufey shouted as she slaughtered dozen after dozen, ultimately coming face to face with Sigyn, the creator of her legendary weapon.
