For some reason the meerkats at the zoo never look the same as on Meerkat Manor (I <33 that show). They are always a different color and much fatter. Fat is easy to explain, but color. Maybe in Africa the direct sunlight all the time causes the fur to be a different color. They are neat looking nonethelessTake at the LA Zoo

Hehehe very true! That show is just so awesome in that it teaches people in the world that animals are not boring, unexciting, and that live lives the same over and over. But they do indeed have some of the everyday drama we have. Makes them more human like I guess, which I kinda do and don't like. But hey if it gets people aware that there's a need to save their enviroment, I'm all for it.

Meerkat Manor is so cute! My uncle's pug watches that show and it is so cute. She whines at the television and jumps around. Meerkat Manor seems to be her favorite show. But cute picture!

yes. maybe not better food though. nothing is better than whatever it is that they naturally eat and i'm sure the zoo doesn't provide that.

That's kinda debatable, it's enriched with important vitamins and minerals. I think they get fed insects like they do in the wild, plus maybe fruit and veggies... I don't really know. I just know big zoos taken extra care in feeding.

Maybe the meerkats at the LA zoo and the meerkats on Meerkat Manor are different species of meerkat? I don't know much about meerkats so I'm just guessing. xD (Did I say meerkat enough?)

Perhaps, I mean they are very close but not quite. The ones at SD zoo were much closer to the ones on Meerkat Manor, just fatter. These were a very dark grey. Also their exhibit is in the shadows 90% if not 100% of the day.
