Description Meet Gorm! Gorm means blue in Irish. He's my newest baby, finished November first. He's been in an art show on campus for the past month, and now I have him back! Time to share him with you guys!

This creature is a hybrid of three different creatures chosen for what they symbolize to me, and because those meaning are important to me at this point in my life. Over the summer, a traumatic event occurred that left me with PTSD. As I work towards recovery, I strive for the qualities that I have represented in this creature.

The base animal is the dragon. The dragon represents ancient wisdom and tranquility in that wisdom. The dragon understands that all things heal and pass with time, and takes peace in that knowledge, even in the face of horror. The head and paws, as well as the scales on the wings are of the dragon. The peaceful elements of the facial expression are also of the dragon.

The second animal is the wolf, which is represented in the fur, the face, and influences the body shape. The wolf is dangerous, strong, and powerful, but also intelligent. The wolf does not attack without reason, like defense or survival. The controlled danger and intelligence in the facial expression are of the wolf.

The final animal is the bird. The bird represents freedom and renewal. It flies, constantly rising from the earth to soar above the world. The bird also represents perspective. No matter how much bigger something is than the bird, it can still rise away and see the element as part of the whole picture, instead of only being able to see that one piece. The bird is represented by the feather wings and the matching blue elements throughout the piece.

Pretty sweet. Could we maybe get some other pictures, with a different background? As is he's kinda blanding into the cloth you're using.

Yep! Sorry about that. I was in a dorm room and was pretty limited. I'll get better photos of several of my babies outdoors when the weather clears up.

His wings are so silky! I'm glad you like him! His face was inspired by Nar'ter's structure.

My roommate loves to pet him too. I think I'm going to make her a doll as a Christmas gift. She's been so patient with my eccentricities and she's become such a good friend.

Thank you! The blue paint is actually layers of nail polish. I've never used that before, but I like how it turned out.

Cool! I've heard of using nail polish as paint before, but I've never really thought of painting an art doll with it. I may have to try it out some day.
