Mike's attention now turned to the judge's bench in front of him. It was currently unoccupied, but on top of it was a desk name plate that read: "Hon. Turja I. Mandensis". To the left of the name plate was what appeared to be a gavel rigged up to a mechanism like that of a bass drum. "It looks like we've drawn Judge Mandensis," Ru said. "She's... tough but fair, in my opinion." "The 'tough' part worries me," Mike replied. "That's understandable. But hey, we're lucky we didn't get Judge Supial. Otherwise, this would be a literal kangaroo court."
After a few minutes, a door behind the bench opened up and the judge emerged. She was a blue lizard, well over six feet tall, with long, straight black hair. Her robe was shorter than a conventional judge's robe, ending just above her knees and showing off her fishnet stocking-clad legs. She strode toward the bench, the four-inch heels of her patent leather pumps clacking across the wooden floor. She sat down in the judge's chair, perusing the details of the case, which had somehow already been typed up and left for her atop the bench. Then from under the bench, a "thlok" was heard, which Mike recognized as the sound of a high-heeled shoe hitting the floor after dropping from a foot. The gavel banged sharply, though the judge did not move her hands. There must have been a pedal under the bench that she was using to operate this gavel.
"All rise," Judge Mandensis commanded.
