this is just a quick sketch in tribute to one of the best films of last year
i absolutely loved gravity from start to finish and needed to get something down on paper, so this is one of two drawings i'm planning on doing.
another one on black paper i found this one a lot harder than my previous drawings simply because the reflection on the helmet was a bitch to get down before i decided just to leave it but i think i went to far and completely ruined it .
again, my scanner thought it was funny to screw up some of the details. :/ but that's a scanner.
hopefully i'll get a better scan/picture up soon. (;
done with polychromo coloured pencils on black paper.

That is on paper? It looks like a photo. Very nice. Drawing on black must be a bit difficult.
The helmet is the best part, lots of realistic reflections and everything Though I think the lips look a bit weird, like the expression is off.

Interesting composition, ever when there is not many elements and colors use for it. But maybe it is also the strongest point of picture? The face and helmet looks really realistic, especially reflection on glass. Mimicry and minimalism of elements bring really strong feels of lonelines and anxious.

This is a gorgeous piece! I like the colors a lot- But the expression is absolutely so dead on, it's a bit creepy.

I would write another critique, but... the other one was so long already... great work, love the shading (or lighting, more like). It's amazing how much detail can be done with just a few shades of colour. I might write a critique later.
And it wouldn't hurt to say what movie this is from. My first guess would be gravity, though I haven't even seen it. I don't even remember if this actor was in it. Heck, my name/face memory is so poor I'm not even sure I've seen him before.

There's such a difference in your art from 2012, and now.
You've definitely gotten better, and I find that very motivating.
It's hard when others around you can't draw as well, yet you yourself know your not where you want to be as an artist, but there pushing you to do things you feel your not ready for.
Looking at your gallery has put my frustration at ease a bit, and I thank you for not taking down things, which I'll as well take to doing, this way one day maybe I can be just as inspirational.

but keeping my old work up shows me how far i've come and could go and how hard i can work.

This doesn't look like a sketch, friend hehe. I have seen many pictures done in black paper and some of them were beautiful but I think this is one of the best I've seen. Good job girl!

Wow cool! I thought this was an edit of official art at first. I really like how cold, dark, and alone is conveyed in your illustration, it captures the suspense of the film nicely. I thought Gravity was a good movie for what it was, wish I got to see it in Imax. My family hated it though.

There is no way on Godβs green earth that I can believe that this ISNβT a photo. But holy crap, it totally isnβt. OMG. It looks REAL. The reflection on his helmet; the hint of Earth splayed before him; the details on his faceβ¦ Holy crap. You must have the patience of a madman!
(And I totally agree. Gravity has to be one of my favorite movies of all time!
