Description
The Balkans and Anatolia in 1250I propose to make a variant of the map continuation game, with map makers drawning a map based on the first one (so this one for this possible round), no matter the style, formal subject, etc, if the next map have a relation with the precedent.
By exemple : Political map of 1250 Romania -> Political map of 1280 Romania -> Religious map with important sites in 1280 Romania -> Turkish States in Anatolia in 1314 -> etc.
Sorry if it's too pretentious or made before, but i think it could be a good time.

It was seljuks dissapeared and that Byzantine Empire have 50/100 years of survival OTL
By the way, yes, it's alternate history, but a really moderate one.

The maps I've seen of Mongol expansion never show them making it that far across Anatolia, never having struck the Byzantines as far as shown here.

It's why it's called Mongol "domination", not Mongol "Empire". To resume, you have little sucessor states suceeding to Seljuk Sultanate of Rum, under the dominance of Mongols.

Hmm, so you have an alternate path for a Mongol invasion. How does this contribute to Russia? I'd expect the Kievan Rus' to be still in power.

Honestly, i'll really appreciate if people could take my proposition (see description) of map-chain seriously, so...let's be optimists and say : we'll see
Now, if no one continues this map, maybe i'll do, but probably without greek unification, at least with the three current states. At the best, creation of an agressive hellenic-irredentist state.

Is it true ? I mean, although I'm no expert on this time and place it seems to click with what I know; but you put it in Alternate History along with No Manifest Destiny and stuff.

In 1250 OTL, latin domination in Macedonia and Thrace are vanished. The Empire of Niceae, Bulgaria and Depostat of Epirus made them history.
Here, the crusaders states managed to survive efficiently, the Kingdom of Thessalonica contending epirots (who manage to crush the Principalty of AchaΓ―a).
The Emperor Baldwin manage to keep control of Thrace, against valacho-bulgars and even take control of Commens land in Bythinia.
The Byzantine Empire still exists in Asia Minor (Empire of Philadelphia, not Niceae)
Sicilia have stronger keeps in Romania (Cephalonia, as OTL, but Corinth and Arania too)
Genoa is making an hostile POP in Crimea
And Tripoli is still latin.
Differences with 1250 OTL

-Weakers and Divided Byzantine states
-Stronger Valacho-Bulgar Tsardom

Everything could have lasted with the right decisionsn at the right time.
In this case, the crusaders states should have used a politic similar as the syrian one : do not upset locals, do not been the little doll of western kingdoms ,having the sense to be the heir of Eastern Roman Empire and try to act following it.
