Description So, here I'm back with a little fashion illustration that I drew practically one month ago... I've been working a lot both at "job" and at home this month, and I hope this won't keep up for long, because I want to come back to drawing, and writing and, well, everything else ^^

For now, have this simple and strange dress made with the help of a jelly pen (among my usual mediums). I also got a lot bolder with ink! The dots were supposed to be butterflies if I remember right

Since this is a fashion drawing, I expect that this is set to the standard of adding an extra head's worth of height in order to display the clothing to best effect, but the model is not as phenomenally willowy as that usually makes them. That's much better for this clothing style, since the model would appear to swim unflatteringly in the dress. Nice work, there.

As to the dress itself, it appears to have an interesting adaptation of being sheath-like in the back, but gathered belted in the front. If that is so, I'd recommend placing the belt purse or pocket book on the hidden side instead, so that potential pattern purchasers or designers can be certain that that is the design feature you intend. Either that, or it would be a good idea to supplement the three-quarters front view with a three-quarters back view. The most useful fashion drawings are the ones that make obvious the unique features of the design, you know?

The dotwork is quite delicate and appealing, and your uncomplicated demonstration of the ruffles and gathers is highly refreshing. Please, continue to draw these!

Thank you so much for this thoughtful comment!
I don't really add that extra head, indeed, I usually like my fashion drawings to look more natural (but they usually look taller than average. I guess that I'm influenced by the fact that I'm tall myself).

I took this from reference, and I think it had the belt all around, but I'm not too sure. You're right when you say it should display the most relevant parts of the dress. I'll keep it in mind for the next ones!
Thank you again! ^^

I see your pen work on the black pants, and the fact that the majority of this is all pen is impressive. I hope you return to doing what you love soon.

Thank you! Yes, I enjoyed filling all the black parts with ink, I never did before and I was a bit hesitant, but it payed off.
Thank you, I hope too! ^^

I adore this style however I feel her proportions are a bit off. It feels like the legs are not properly aligned and the body is a bit square. BUT I also feel that this is apart of your style and it has a sweet charm to it. Ultimately, This is a nice a simple piece that deserves proper recognition.

Thank you! ^^ Yeah, unfortunately the proportions come out always a bit off. Expecially the legs ;_;
It is a bit part of the style as I don't want girls to look too much like models or mannequins, but I should improve on the proportions, definitely.

Actually if I were you, I'd keep it the way it is. The way you do it is CHARMING because it looks more intentional than ignorant

Found through projectcomment.deviantart.com/ ,

Her expression and her pose help to build intrigue, as we have to wonder what she is looking at while her dress is unique enough to draw attention. There are more than a few breaks in the lines which bring attention away from the warmness of the piece and to the places where the colors melt. I think that this is a great start, I would recommend spending more time devoted to your details so that the picture looks more clean.

Thank you for the comment! I like that it ceates some intrigue ^^
Anyway, I can understand what you mean, those lines could be definitely smoother, and it doesn't look very good when zoomed up, thanks for pointing that out!
