A quicky doodle of the wonderful Alistair from Dragon Age: Origins. It's not so great, but then I spent all of 3 or 4 minutes on it when I was supposed to be writing about Tsar Nicholas II. One day, I will draw something that does him justice. :3Related content

My boyfriend bought DO:A & I started a game as well. I really love Alistair; he's probably one of the best male RPG characters I've come across in a video game. I'm really trying to get my PC & him together
The last time I played, I got a serious case of the giggles when I gave him a gift...he just sounds so excited in-game - it's too cute!

I know! He's adorable, isn't he? Just wait till you progress through the game; some of his conversations with your PC are ridiculously sweet.

Yes, for a video game character he's sooo sweet! I've seen media clips of some of his conversations; they make me all warm & fuzzy

And it's also sort of relieving to see that the others have been just as heartbroken and torn by the Alistair romance as I was. I was thinking maybe I'm getting a little too much into these games because I swear my heart stopped beating when he dumped me. I was so dead inside it's ridiculous. xD I don't honestly believe it could feel any worse if my rl fiancee jumped up and left me! Well, after playing through the Landsmeet like 10 times over I found a solution that let me keep him (I was playing city elf rogue) but I was hurt enough to be SO jealous over him for the rest of the game that... aaagh. I could talk about this for the rest of the year. Luckily other fans seem to feel the same way.

I'm just up to the Landsmeet bit now. Luckily, the lovely has given me a load of tips, so hopefully Alistair won't chuck my Dalish elfy lady.
And I felt that I was getting far too into it too. I accidently stumbled over a spoiler about an iffy choice you have to make later on in the game and I couldn't couldn't get to sleep because I kept thinking about it! It traumatised me! XD How sad is that?! I don't worry about my uni work as much as making sure everything turns out alright in the end.

Alright. I just got to that point in the game, so a little head's up: no Alistair for you if you make him King and you're not a human nobel.
But,
There is a way around that. He says himself that he never wanted to be King. You can make the standing Queen ruler instead, but you need to prepare for it. I'll give you detailed instructions should you like. Just know that you've got to be careful, and tell her up front that you support her as Queen.

I don't want to spoil anything for you, so I won't give any details, but if you choose a particular option later on in the game, he'll dump you (I also thought he was acting like a jerk!), and it's actually hard to believe but I was heartbroken!! Even though it's a game!!!
This is the most complex romance I have ever seen in a game!

I was heartbroken, too. But lucky for me, I had multiple saves, so I re-loaded and used persuade to get my way.
Still, more heartbreak later, though. I'm not giving Morganna the Grimoire this time, just to see if that changes anything. Oh, and I'd rather die that make that deal with her again. >:[

the dumping is a spoiler, love. Just be sure to level up your persuade skill and use it when the choice comes as to who will be King (if it's even an option with us elvish women
