Overall

Originality

Technique

Impact

The thought that immediately probed my mind when I came across this painting was the despicable concept of 'backstabbing.' Although the entirety of the idea may be dreadful, I found the message behind this artwork to something along the lines of "I'm hurt... I'm crippled... I'm lost..." Whatever the true meaning behind this work may be, I can say that artist did a marvelous job of physically conjuring the (as the title says...) "suffering" of an emotionally fragile person. The background is simple, and the artist used the simplicity of it to their advantage and further emphasized the lonely and seemingly hopeless mood that the art piece provides the viewers.

As a whole, this piece is very impactful and proof of the artist's ability to make such a meaningful statement with a few strokes of a brush. Marvelous job. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

Its interesting, can you tell more about this art of yours? What is the canvas? What was your inspiration for the rod on the back of the guy?

It´s normal watercolor paper (300 g/m2; Grain Fin, Cold Pressed NOT) made by Daler-Rowney (www.daler-rowney.com)
I like that paper very much!
It´s amazing to read diffirent interpretations of other artists, other humans. I don´t see the rod as an rod, it´s just the spine which is coming through the skin because of the suffering of the girl. There are stones which destroy her power, her self-confidence, her mind and her soul and as an result of that she is transforming to a fragile human. The lines which came out of her back, out of her vortex are connected with the stones to build up an incontrovertible evidence that she feels so much pain and it won´t stop til she dies. A pain for the whole life.
Maybe I can tell you more about but in the moment these thoughts are the only one which cross my mind

Sure thing, I want to hear more about this art I like how we see one thing and interpret it differently.

I see a shroud around a long-haired man, unkempt due to neglect as if no one cares for him. I see rods sticking out of his spine as if all the life is being sucked out of him, and yet, he is willing to do this, as if the pain is welcomed. But this is not due to some twisted sense of pleasure but of responsibility, duty, morality. I think or I feel that he turned his back because he is willing to endure the pain, because it is the right thing to do.
