Description The Beginning of the Wars

The Felidan-Etheria Wars were a series of conflicts within the planet and moon of Felida  protagonised by the Felidans, allied with the Federation , and the Empire of Etheria . It was a conflict that happened in the last days of the Federo-Etherian War, in 5048 A.E . It was a massive campaign sent by the Emperor of Etheria as a last ditch effort to win the war. By capturing Felida , they would be able to get the closest they possibly could to the capital of the Federation, Walestain . This was named "Operation Ramming Log" by the Etherian higher ups.

The Attack

Felida was a very important strategic point, and as such it was heavily defended. Operation Ramming Log was structured as the biggest frontal assault the Etherians ever executed. Etherian spies and infiltrated saboteurs disabled some of the defense ships' weapon systems, giving the Etherian fleet a chance to attack and destroy many of the ships in the defense fleet.

The advance in the planet was a sudden and powerful attack. Dozens of Spikeface Frigates advanced providing artillery support and deploying armored vehicles. The defenses of Felida, although their soldiers and army were extremely weak and barely trained, resisted for many weeks, along with Federation reinforcements that arrived shortly after. The Federation helped train and supply Felidan troopers in the fight for their planet. The planet was slowly being lost, however. To protect the Felidan citizens, the Federation offered many of them immigration and transport to colonies. The planet was taken back by the Federation once the Juunian  campaign ended. The Empire was driven off the planet by the overwhelming force of the Federation soldiers, vehicles, ships and artillery. The Etherian commanders' infighting and constant competition also made many of the strategies confusing and ineffective for the common soldiers.

A few weeks after their failure in Operation Ramming Log, the Etherians agreed to surrender to the Federation with the end of the Battle of Pethun . The Felidan-Etherian War, however, ended the moment they left Felida.

Consequences

The impending invasion by the Etherians drove the Felidans to have to defend themselves. Being a highly religious people who follow the Church of the Crystal Children's  teachings, the Felidans struggled with their reasoning to fight the invaders. According to the holy book of Krad, they should always incentivate peace and understanding. However, for many years the felidans had debated whether they should apply these laws to xeno races. This debate grew even stronger with the Felidan-Etherian War, with all of those who didn't believe they should apply xenos to the laws enlisting to defend their home. Even those who thought they should enlisted to defend themselves out of desperation.

After the war, however, the Felidan Council of Representatives along with the Felidan population was divided. One side believed they should stick to their core values and continue to rely on the Federal military for defense, while the other side believed they had to rennovate and grow the Felidan army, which was already extremely bare bones before the wars. These two groups were named Pacifists and Armentists. This political divide exists to this day, and has been responsible for a larger than ever decline in faith.

The refugee crisis ended up being a big problem, as many of the refugee colonies weren't able to return to Felida due to the slowness of bureaucratic processes within the Federation council. As of 5061 A.E, some of the colonies were retransferred, but many of them are still in the planets assigned to them.
