Description Humanity Under Threat

Approximately 4732 years after the Great Galactic Expansion  of humanity and the Great Silence  that soon followed, humanity was thriving. Recently discovering its earthly origins, the human colonies across the cosmos join together in trade, defense and diplomacy. Peace is commonplace in human societies.

However, in a not-yet-discovered part of the Known Galaxy , a threat harbors underneath the covers. The Ravagers , an alien species originating from the post-apocalyptic planet of Ravaagia , obtain their resources to sustain themselves from ramsacking defenseless planets from its inhabitants. It did not take long until this race of raiders discover humanity and its colonies.

Once they had humanity under their sights, multiple skirmishes and attacks occurred towards minor human colonies, killing and injuring hundreds. This attracted the immediate attention of the recently established Human Union, a federationist coalition of all known human colonies. At the start, humanity didn't have a unified army. This led to much infighting, discrimination and disorganization.

The Rise of the Federation

Seeing how the Ravager Invasions were not being successfully repelled, as their attacks only grew by the day, Tarrian  politician John Armstrong Jr. decided to propose an idea to the union's senate. A Federation , under which all of humanity would be represented and unified. A single currency, a single army, a single people.

The council initially frowned upon this idea. However, as the attacks grew and the infighting escalated between different army groups, the idea was progressively considered more and more. Eventually, the Federation was formally formed through a council vote, and they elected John Armstrong Jr. as its first ever First Citizen.

Once humanity was unified, there were several protests towards universal unification. However, as the Ravager threat grew closer, and as the newfound Federal Army fended them off successfully, popular opinion started to increase on this Federation and protests for diversity fizzled out.

Military victories started to increase as the new united army went through a heavy anti-discrimination campaign and started receiving orders from one fixated central command instead of making use of fragmented defense operations. The Ravager threat, which once made humanity believe it was doomed, was being pushed back.

With the invasions, humanity came to discover and adapt the Ravager weaponry known as accelerating firearms . This led to an industrial revolution in the military fields, leading to all previous types of weapons being replaced and phased out.

End of the Invasions and the Post-War

Over the course of 104 years, in 4836 A.E, the Ravagers were gradually becoming less of a threat, until they became a minor terrorist group. Once the last Ravager clan accepted submission to the Federation with the Siege of Ravaagia, the Ravager Invasions were declared as over, and John Armstrong Jr, like many humans able to live much longer thanks to human technology, took a historical photo shaking the hand of the last Ravager clan.

Decades after the Ravager Invasions ended, prejudice against Ravagers (or Ravaagians as they prefer to be called) is still very evident in human societies, even though Ravaagia and its people were domesticated and artificially culturally overhauled by the Federation in the post-war.
