spirit of the morning dew
is that french translation right btw? i havnt studied french for 6 years..

in a quiet autumn glade, the spirit of morning dew lies nestled amoungst the dew dropped grasses wearing nothing but the dew thats settled on her lashes. as the sun rises, she takes a deep breath, and begins her sweet hollow melody to welcome in the daylight much to the delight of the faery folk and all manner of nature, that gathers to hear her dawn Requiem

this is it! my first digital painting! and its all mousework! gosh im proud (lol its taken long enough i know! must be over a week now right?! lol)

i wanted the whole image to be soft with no harsh colours, mimicing the early morning light : )
this piece is very special to me, no only because its my first attempt at digital painting, but because it symbolised a new dawn. today i move out of my family home to go live alone in the city. its a huge deal to me and its going to be tough, but i know i can do it

the original file had over 40 layers, i have rediculas one like 'ladybirds legs' and stuff like that cos i was so worried about messing up layers!
the basic process iwent through making this was base colour > smudge > blur > more colour > smuge > blur > etc > etc > building up the details slowing > using smaller and smaller brushes!
i wish i could show you this bigger cos all the one pixel details i spent ages on have been eaten! ggrr but you can still kinda see them in these WIPs - [link]
this is also i kinda sequal to 'ocarina'

(oh and i want no qwips bout the flute being held wrong, this is how the spirit of morning dew plays her special flute )
