Description My entry to Artistic Journey Challenge:  What Does Your Artistic Journey Look Like?

For this entry, I used one of the darkest fractals in my gallery and I made a new light counterpart, joining both in this artwork. My artistic journey is a constant battle between light and darkness. Art is the path that helps me stay in the middle of these two.
Sometimes I choose one side, sometimes the other but eventually I always come back to the middle. As I said many times before, creating artworks is a form of therapy for me. I am most creative in my darkest periods of life. Sometimes I feel like plunging deep down in the dark ocean of depression yet I am way too rational to do exactly that, so I plunge into the process of creation - which is equally consuming and deep experience and it takes it's own toll, nevertheles it's much more preferable to absolute mental breakdown. It keeps me in the middle, it keeps me sane.
Whenever there is no pain and everything goes easy, I loose the depth. I feel like something crucial is missing, my inspiration is gone. I am empty. Pain and obstacles are signs of moving forward, of evolving, changing and learning. I need to move forward, desperately. I need to face my inner darkness, accept life in it's complexity. I need to say in the middle, seeing both light and darkness. Feeling the balance, neither joy nor sorrow. A state of pure vision, observing everything and standing not above but right in the middle.

This is so cool. I happen to have this gift for interpretation in which I can read art like a driver can read a stop sign. XD Well here goes...

This will be the first time I have ever interpreted fractal art. I had no idea there was a name for this media until now. XD Abstract art is indeed one of the biggest challenges I ever attempted to interpret, and also fun too. ^^
Under the theme of "Artistic journey" "Between Light and Darkness" visually expresses sharp and vivid colors. I enjoyed reading your commentary, sharing the concept of your work. Part of the challenge of interpretation is being able to dive deeper into this artistic world. The color purple is often associated with dominance. The color red with passion, and blue with deep. Colors and forms are elements in art that visually communicates to me in many ways. In both light and darkness, a prominent form of a flower grows. On the light side, I get a strong sense of an outer world, as though the inner person is looking out through the windows of a bodily household. When peering in from the outside, we see the inner world, deep, dark, but with enough light to see clearly and sharp substance. The details are intricate, and shares a sentiment of a stronger fortitude. Every space have been occupied with a passionate armor of determination. I see more of a balance of the inner and outer world. The outer world is the reflection of the inner world. There are three dimensional layers on both side that shares a personal maintenance of sorts, managing, and even conditioning mentally, physically and spiritually. Creativity is certainly expressed as a powerful outlet. The vision for a productive life is so vivid, and clear, leaving no room for obstacles to obscure the vision. There is a powerful sentiment with the geometric form of the semi circle, like two sharp arms surrounding a source of a problem and shatters it like a small matter.  Transmuting it into something much more lively. In every advancement of the journey, there is much resources that was gained. The process is like being stretched until it hurts, but in the lighter blue, there is a sense of recovery, and growth, producing substance of a stronger character.

Well this concludes my interpretation. Hope you enjoyed the read. This was a fun challenge. This is pretty much how I comment on all art works. Since I first joined DA, I discovered this gift and figure I combine this gift with my writing skills to support my fellow artist here. It allows me to connect with artist on a deep level, understanding visual communication in a way that makes viewing art an experience of a much bigger world.

(Sorry for the late reply, I get so many comments that the system deletes some once the inbox reaches certain limit So, I have to manually check each artwork's comments, which takes time )

Thank you so much for your interpretation! It was fun to read and also a little bit scary As if you were peering through this artwork right into my soul. Please, do keep commenting on people's art. You have amazing gift of insight, bordering on clairvoyance

Your very welcome. ^^

It sometimes scares me too, on half the things I find out from studying art.
Art visually communicates a story, history, meanings and even thoughts and
emotional contents of the artist, the same as how music speaks a universal language
that no words could best elaborate it.

Funny story, I once interpreted a macabre art depicting hair in the mouth and in the process
of interpreting it, I literally gagged and almost threw up. My imagination was just too vivid.
The artist enjoyed the read and said I nailed the interpretation, but it was at the expense that I
almost lost my lunch. XD I don't think I can handle interpreting macabre and horror, at least not
in the extreme. I have a weak stomach for those images. XD

I guess I'm just keeping an open mind for every media of art, so I can broaden my perspective more.
As I found out, I can't handle blood and gore images. Interpretation also helps me learn as much about
myself as I would the artist. Perhaps even more so in the sense of how closely I can relate with the art work.

If I can define art in a single word it would be that it is provocative. ^^

I absolutely adore how the two sides contrast and compliment each other, my favourite being the right side due to the way the darkness causes the colour to 'pop' out giving the image depth.

Awesome!
