Description
My ongoing project "learn-how-to-paint-landscapes". Also, a gift for my sister-in-law
I really like the word dusk. I wish our language used it. Though our word for dusk isn't bad either. I do have irrational relationship with some words.
Anyway... that was a lot of branches!

I usually paint in a lot of layers, and yes, the ground was created with yellow, orange, sepia, violet and paynes gray

I remember doing something like this in one of my art classes. We did this thing where we painted a background and then we painted black over it to make it a silhouette, it was one of my favorite painting techniques. Just out of coincidence, in that same project I also painted a tree almost like yours only there were birds in it, and there was a deer next to the tree looking at the birds. I still have that painting and seeing this reminds me of it. The only difference is that you put in A LOT more detail than mine. Great work!

Well, that's actually the only way how to paint it, because otherwise I would have to mask the tree and that would be incredibly tedious (not to mention unnecessary and not as good looking).
