Description
This is a brony request forHe asked me for a pic of Rarity wearing a fancy black dress... Well, Rarit is ready for a fabulous night in the city.

okay so I really enjoy your shading and the overall concept of this but her head is just a little to small and thats really the only problem I see but all in all its a very lovely picture
and this is only here because there is a 100 word minimum and I really couldn't find anything else I saw that needed commenting on other than how lovely the coloring is especially the face the blush is just lovely.... Yea I really can't find anything else to comment on and I still needed a few more words so just ignore this

This is my first time writing a critique, so bear with me.
I don't know exactly where i'm supposed to start, so I'll just go from the head down. The hair itself is drawn well enough, the shading is accurate and the white line suggesting shine is a very nice touch. But her head itself... it's incredibly tiny. It's almost completely lost amidst all that hair. It's entirely disproportionate. However the face itself is charming enough, with the blush and the shimmery eyes. I don't think it completely captures Rarity's personality, seeing as she seems to be an older more mature woman, and the way you have drawn her here makes her appear to be a younger, more playful woman. But that aside, it is physically drawn well.
Moving downwards, we arrive at her shoulders. They are too narrow, especially for that sort of bosom and those hips. They are not proportional. There is a rule, you are supposed to be able to fit half of the head on either side of the actual head, and have it fit on the shoulders. And while this may actually apply here due to the very small head, I have already gone over the inaccuracy of the head size.
Moving down, her breasts. They aren't the same size. The breast on the right is much smaller than the breast on the left. They are so disproportional to one another, I'm honestly surprised you didn't notice when you were drawing it.
Her arms. The one on the right is incredibly thin and doesn't match the thickness of her thighs. Also, her right forearm is much thinner than the left, which looks almost pudgy.
Onwards and downwards. Her waist is fine, and her hips have a very nice slope, but her legs are a bit over-done in their thickness. There's voluptuous and then there's chunky. And compared with the thinness of her arms, they just look fat.
The cutie mark on her leg isn't the same as her cutie mark in the show. It's a paler blue and there are lines through them. If all else fails, just find a vector of the cutie mark and lay it directly over the image.
Now that I have all the criticism out of the way, I can take a deep breath and begin the praise.
The star pattern on the dress is absolutely lovely. It makes it look shimmery and quite elegant. The white lines outlining the black dress are a beautiful touch, and the gathered fabric around the neckline is very appealing.
The background is lovely, whether you made it or not. The soft purple of the starry sky compliments the darker purple of her hair. The silhouette of the buildings is a beautiful touch and adds a sense of class to the whole image.
And that's mostly all I have to say. Rarity is my favorite pony by an absolute landslide, so I'm always a bit on the harsh side with criticism when it comes to drawings of her. I'm always quite picky.
Overall it's a very nice image. Aside from some anatomy flaws, it's a beautiful piece. I would give it a 7 out of 10, if I had that option.
