Description Something I pooped out in about an hour. Sort of dilutes the last picture I submitted but that's okay. One of my sister's friends is cosplaying as Aradia for a Homestuck meet up somewhere so I hope she has fun with that ~ Also served as the inspiration for this

Time Taken:
Sketch: 15 minutes (counts as time taken to come up with the picture itself)
Base colours and questionable shading: 30 minutes
Extra effects: 15 minutes

Hahha I guess it does! xD

That would be so great though, to have a whole movie dedicated to her ;-; or any of the trolls, really.

yeah that would be really great if they all had movies (individual ones would be great because there would be at least 12 different movies) and if they were real I'd beg to see every single one of them in the theater

Yes yes yes And if all the movies tied together somehow. Like, each movie was full length, and entertained on its own, but without the other 11, there was always something left that was answered in the next. Or if the little clues and answers were sprinkled throughout the series of movies. With lots of quirky references and foreshadowing and tragic backstories that we never saw coming.

Ahhh I'm getting ahead of myself It would just be simply fantastic if that were to actually happen.

omg that would be the most beautiful thing ever they would be all I talked about and it could get other people into Homestuck, even if they don't 100% understand what's going on half the time in each movie <33

Exactly, and the animation would be so spectacular that it didn't matter if they weren't a Homestuck, they would fall in love with the art and storyline.
This is a brilliant idea why can't this happennnnn D:

I know, it should become a thing, but I know it probably won't any time soon because I don't think Hussie likes it when fans sell copyrighted merchandice, sooooo

I really want it to though D:

Well the idea is still wonderful and I love it. "And besides, having, it seems, is not as great a thing as wanting. It seems illogical, but it is often true."

Idk just a quote from somewhere to help cope with the fact that this beautiful thing may never exist in our lifetime. /sigh

but just imagine the casting for voice acting how do you think that would work would it be like according to the cast director's head canons or would they take a survey or what

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LuckyIrishEyes In reply to puppylover41925 [2013-05-08 02:06:35 +0000 UTC]

Hmm... I think it would be wise to take a survey, because that's like maybe hundreds of opinions working together to create the most "canon" voice for these characters, compared to just a small handful of people, mainly the cast director, making that decision.

And if that still doesn't work out, Hussie himself could just come in and help settle things.

oh yeah, I think that would work too, maybe a survey of oh, maybe around 413 people? but if that doesn't work either they could just go with what Hussie says about the voices

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LuckyIrishEyes In reply to puppylover41925 [2013-05-09 22:58:12 +0000 UTC]

Exactly 413 people hand-picked ahead of time for their superior knowledge of the comic and everything about it. Then Hussie can come in, judge the results of the survey, and make the final decision.

puppylover41925 In reply to LuckyIrishEyes [2013-05-10 22:27:47 +0000 UTC]

that would be perfect.
but how would they choose the 413 people? would they ask different voice actors throughout the fandom?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LuckyIrishEyes In reply to puppylover41925 [2013-05-10 23:08:33 +0000 UTC]

Hm... I'm not sure exactly how they would narrow it down, or who exactly they would choose from. I think maybe asking actual voice actors from the fandom would be the best route, and then just choosing those who knew the most. It's kind of difficult to gauge, however, if these people are familiar enough with the characters to make an accurate contribution to the survey.

And, unfortunately, even if it all worked out, even after Hussie himself made the decision, there will be a group of people who are unhappy with at least one of the cast voices: "Whaaat?? that wasn't MY headcanon! They did a terrible job, ruined everything! 0/10 would not recommend >:["

Actually, there are probably many people who would react that way. And the only way to overcome that dissatisfaction is to have the animation and artwork be absolutely stunning, I guess.

or maybe just 413 random people so it's not really specific? like if they went to cons and asked a bunch of random homestuck cosplayers, so it would be just like asking normal people and it would seem more open (or whatever the word is)

and I think to avoid that they would ad in reviews or whatever that they surveyed people about the voices and had Andrew Hussie himself come in and say something about it

but some fans are really good at drawing and or are taking animation classes, so I don't think the animation wouldn't be a problem

LuckyIrishEyes In reply to puppylover41925 [2013-05-11 03:00:28 +0000 UTC]

Hm, I like that idea better actually. Cons are definitely good places to find normal Homestuck people/ cosplayers, and that would save time, instead of like picking all these special people out first. Telling people about the survey, and Hussie's involvement, is definitely a must, as well.

Sigh, yeah, the Homestuck fandom definitely has some amazing artists and animators in it's ranks, which is really the reason why I hopped into the fandom to begin with x]

And, maybe, after all the movies were made, there could be like an official "The Art of Homestuck" artbook released? It would be full of all the concept sketches, and cover art, background art, and the best fan art and maybe some bonus material, like the soundtrack, and trivia, from the movies. A few words and notes from the animators and artists. That would be really great~

and not to mention that sometimes Hussie goes to cons, so if they find enough people a the con they don't even have to leave the building to go to Hussie about it. Unless they really wanted to have him do it in private, because I think at cons he'd be all "It doesn't matter to me"

and if they found an artist to do all of them but not an animation studio, they could even ask people outside the homestuck fandom to do it for them because I know there are so many people out there who wanna go to college or whatever for animation it would give them so much credit. (although there would be auditions for that, much like the voice auditions)

If the movie gets popular enough and earns enough money, they could probably open a little store or even a cute little art gallery showing off some amazing people's homestuck fanart, and they could have that book in the gift shop, too. The fandom would go nuts if this happened, and it would get love and support from at least 90% of the fandom. You saw how he raised over 2 million dollars for the game? Imagine how much he would make from the movie!

I think, for the sake of formality, that meeting with Hussie behind the scenes with the cast director and that whole casting committee would be best. Maybe have some charts displaying the survey results, everyone wears a suit and tie and nice shoes. Just so it feels legitimately professional.

Well there can't be just one artist, there must be a whole arts and animation department. Maybe the studio that ends up doing the movie can offer like a special opportunity to the best animation students for the job, as well as some veteran animators.

If the opening of any sort of Homestuck shop or fan art gallery relied on the movies getting enough money, then those will be guaranteed because I bet so many people would go to see it. Like you mentioned, he got 2 million for that game, the movie will most likely get tons more.

puppylover41925 In reply to LuckyIrishEyes [2013-05-13 19:36:05 +0000 UTC]

yeah I think that'll be better, considering all the people that would be trying to get to Hussie at the con anyways (for autographs and such) and I think a whole movie cast and crew would not only get in the way of that but also probably stress that crap out of Hussie too.

I know, but they could go offer some fans that are really into animating help if they wanted to, but they'd have to find someone who would be in animation school for a few years. I don't know, just a suggestion.

I think if the movie gets enough money he could probably do something even more than a shop or gallery. I'm not sure what, but anything. maybe a sequal to the game, except it'll be more like an RP game where you could actually Enter your name at the beginning, customize your character, take a quiz for your title, and customize your planet. something like that would be really cool.

There are definitely fans out there who have some exceptional animating skills, and they could definitely help out. I think it's a good idea, because the studio would get fresh new talent, and these students would hopefully get nice recognition, some money, and the experience of working on a real project.

I'm sure with the extra money he could do a lot of extra things like that. An RP game would be really great, like one with a lot of cool and creative customization options for all sorts of things. Maybe a multiplayer mode, too? I'm not sure.

yeah, that's what I was saying! they could have a sign up sheet, and then an audition to see who could help the most on the animation. I don't think that will matter as much as having to make Hussie come in and decide, but they could take a poll to see out of the top 5 animation styles and the one that won would get to work on the movie :3

and they could probably go further and make it a game for an actual gaming console like a Playstation or something fun like that, and if they earned enough money they could change your voice to the one of the character you're playing as when you talk into a microphone or blue tooth (the voices still being the ones from the movie)
