Maaki-Club Contest: Friendship

Another Maaki prompt I had lying around and figured I'd do while I still have time to spend hours on a drawing. Didn't turn out as good as the other one (mostly because I got fed up with it halfway through), but I still like it. I didn't have the right pencils to color Splash and I didn't figure that out until I started coloring so by the time I was done coloring I was seriously fed up and didn't put any more effort into the shading than was absolutely necessary.
The story behind this drawing: While Zekral is a coast Maaki and absolutely loves water, he's scared of actually going in the water because he can't swim. Splash, being the good friend he is, offered to help him over his fear. This is probably their first time trying, Splash hasn't really figured out what to do yet and Zekral is still too scared to step into the shallows (even though the water is literally not deep enough to cover his feet). I might draw a sequel to this one day, but not any time soon, I think.
Fun fact, this drawing was inspired by tumblr shenanigans in which my and a friend's characters face the same problem (except my character is the one who can swim in that situation).
