Why thank you! ^^ Im always a little apprehensive about my freehand coloring since ive seen people do some amazing pieces with colored pencils. So I always appreciate a nice compliment Thank you. Picking out the colors is definitely one of the best parts of drawing.

Yes, its colored pencil. Unfortunately I've been told that Crayola is actually not all that high a quality but you know, work with what you got!

Damn skippy. You can take an art brand that is considered low quality by several standards and make a really high quality artwork with it. And there are many underrated brands between the high quality and low quality ones Taht fit your budget,look ,and fancy. I just found out recently that there were other brands of markers besides copic and crayola that sit in between the two in terms of quality or are better than copics. Many are also considerably cheaper than copics or prismacolor markers. Like winser and Newton, or spectrum nior. They are pretty dang good from what. Have seen.

And to add on too of that , I have worked with crayola colored pencils for years. They were what I started with. You will find that quite a few of my earlier art entries were made with them. I still work with them from time to time. Especially if I am doing a trade or request and I don't want to use as many of my more expensive supplies but still want it to look nice. (I mean , I am not trying to be cheap but down of my supplies are pricy and it is techniquelly free art so you get what you can get.;w.
As far as the cheaper colored pencils go ,they are a good option for general purposes or beginners. And there are other brands of colored pencils besides prismacolors. Nor every artist needs the top well known brands. You know my love for lyra Rembrandts. They're high quality and nice enough for the wallet. Plus they last me years.

Fabre castells are nice too.
This is coming from someone who goes for pilot pens instead of pentel. XD

Its not to say you can't get a super high quality product, they are an investment for an artist. But there is definitely more than one high quality brand to try. Basically Prismacolors and Copics are excellent choices but they aren't the status quo.

Im still working with Crayola. Maybe its not a professional brand but it gets the job done. ALthoguh sometimes I do wish I could try the more rexpensive brands. or those really nice ink pens! I would really love to try those Lyra Rambrants sometime!
