Description
Credits: A special Thank you to for the inspiration ^^, your beautiful ballerinas are certainly enchanting! Also a big thank you to my good friend, for helping me think out some ideas for my little Sophie.
Concepts: Ah, just thought it would be nice to have a pretty little dancer of my own after drawing many of CapricornDiem’s ballet dancers, and i think he’s been curious to see what i came up with, except it was a slow going process, and i definitely had trouble with her story; one of those “I had a design in mind but not much for story” kind of situations.
Setting: My Sonic Fanimalverse, an AU where the world, a more crowded version of Sega's mostly modern day Earth, includes Mobians of all kinds, colors both natural and fantastical, Mobians who look either like the traditional style or sometimes have more complex designs, and even includes mythical beast based Mobians. That being said, sometimes my Mobians might not look like Mobians or the designs may vary between individuals of the same species due to evolutionary variants. Just keep in mind that Sonic already lives in a world of mixed looking designs. I mean is Eggman even human, cuz he doesnt look like the other humans?
Camiile Joli's Profile: Camille Joli, The Dancing Golden Retriever
SOPHIE DANSUER / PETITE THE PAPILLION

Height/Weight:A few feet tall and light weight
Age: 12
Birthday/Sign: July 27/ Cancer
Birthplace: New Hope City/ West Virginia, USA
Alignment: Neutral Good
Affiliations: Madam Dupont’s Dance Academy
Occupation: Ballet Dancer in training, future academy student
Romantic interests: None as of yet
Rivals: Camille Joli
Relatives: Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eloise and Didier Dansuer, and Grandma Maddy (Madeline)
Likes: Tutus, Ballet, pastel colors, tumbling and gymnastics, dancing in general, music, practicing but also spending time just being out and about and being active. She doesnt really like sitting around doing nothing.
Dislikes: When boys poke fun at her for wearing her tutu in public. It doesnt happen often but when it does, it rubs her the wrong way.
Favorite Food/Drink: Crepes Suzette/Citron presse (sort of a Fench Lemonade)
Hobbies: dancing in general, roller skating
Skills/Talents: Since she has been practicing ballet from a very young age, she is quite nimble and agile for a dog. These kind of qualitites are usually ascribed to felines. She is quite athletic but in a gymnastic, acrobatic way. She can leap surprisingly high.
Special Items/Weapons: Sparkly blue butterfly tutu. Like any girl who loves ballet, she has a closet full of “training” tutus, but her sparkly blue butterfly tutu is a special one that she wears on special days, otherwise she’ll wear clothes that resemble ballet outfits like a fluffy skirt and strappy top, or maybe one of her everyday training tutus which are a lot more simplier looking.
Camile’s letters are also a very special item that she keeps safe and sound in a little, rectangular pink box decorated with butterfly stickers.
Weaknesses: Small size, it does limit strength, but moreover people have indicated that her small size limits her in all manner of ways, which she believes is just ignorant to say such a thing. She is young and resilient so it has not yet settled in her mind as a permanant doubt. But it might someday...
Personality: Passionate, but especially about dancing. She is quite dedicated to her craft, but even so, she always has time to show, to share, to practice kindness. She is a sweet and lively girl. Even though she may not look it, she is tougher than you would think, since she is stubborn in that she doesn’t quit easy. She has a drive to succeed even if the task at hand is beyond her capabilities. She has a lot to prove to people, and to herself, she wants every one to know that her permanantly small size doesnt limit her success.
Theme Song: Dancing Shoes by Dev. youtu.be/bVfnlv7Fil8
I did consider using a hip hop vesion of a famous ballet song, but I thought this was more relatable on a broader scale and still pertains to dancing.
Trivial:
~Many of Sophie’s details, including her first and last name, pertain to French origin, since Ballet was cultivated in France, as well as in Russia, but originated in Italy.
~Sophie’s first name is of French origin and means “wisdom”. Her last name is the French Word for “Dancer”. All ger family members and best friend have names woth French origins.
~Sophie’s dog breed is also French. Its name The Papillion, means “Butterfly” and was named so for the distinct shape of its ears, though there is a flop earred-varient named the Phalene which means “Moth”
~The Papillion Dog is also known as the Toy Continental Spanial
~Petite is a french word meaning little, small, and dainty.
~Sophie’s rival and frienemy was named after the bully ballet dancer in the animated movie “Leap!”. Her last name is the French word for “pretty”
Background Story:
Ever since she was a tiny little girl, Sophie has always wanted to dance. Her drive was so strong, she loved to dance to all kinds of music, even as a toddler. And even that young, she always knew she wanted to perform in ballet.
Since neither parent was a dancer, Sophie always thought this passion for dancing was unique to her in her family, but it wasnt long before she learned that her paternal grandmother also had a passion for dance and was even a prima ballerina. In fact, it was soon revealed that she actually came from a long line of French Dancers. Then she realized that dancing was a passion born into blood—she was simply born to dance. Dancing was everything to her. It was freedom, it was artist expression, it was passion.
Her parents knew they were only holding her back if they didnt help her excel in this passion, and so Sophie was signed up for ballet lessons very early in life. The thing was, these lessons were taught by a retired dancer at the local activity center, it wasnt actually a dancing school, but every dancer has to start somewhere. It was only as Sophie grew older that she started to realize that she really wanted to go to a professional dance academy. This was fine for now, but someday, she wanted to upgrade.
Sophie’s neighbor was a golden retriever named Camile Joli who also loved ballet. The girls were friends, but along the way they became competative rivals. Though not in the way you might think. Oh, yes, they ribbed each other, there was teasing and snide jokes, and you might have thought they really didnt like each other; but the truth was they were actually pretty tight friends, and the teasing was never really malicious. Camile was just as in love with dancing and ballet as Sophie was and so the two took to competing as a way to push each other, but whenever life got too mean and crazy, they would drop the frienemy act and comfort each other. Life was quirky that way.
They shared a passion and they shared their dream and they understood each other. So Even if they had labels like frienemies and rivals, they were actually great friends. They both dreamed about going to the Madam Dupont Dance Academy a few cities away and even tried to plan how to get there together someday. But someday came too fast when Camile had to tell Sophie she was moving, that her father had gotten her accepted into the dance academy. Probably pulled some strings and did some favors.
This was confusing for Camile. She wanted to go more than anything, but she didn’t want to leave Sophie behind like this. Sophie was crushed at this, but at the same time, her kind heart knew it would be wrong to hold Camile back and so she did what any good friend would do—she was happy for Camile and told her to go—it was too good to pass up, just go, and don’t worry; she’ll get there soon enough.
And so Camile left for the fancy dance academy of her dreams. And Sophie did what dancers do best, she expressed her disappointment at not being able to go and her new found loneliness through dance. But when she wasnt dancing, that disappointment and loneliness was a lot easier to see. Camile was her best friend and now she was gone, so of course it was a difficult time for her.
But still, her parents worried. This wasnt how Sophie usually was, and it worried them. But they knew what to do. Sophie’s mother took up a part time job and she and Sophie’s father and grandmother planned a very special birthday that would be coming up in a few months. By then Sophie was more like herself again, but she still missed living next to her best friend. It helped that Camile and Sophie wrote letters to each other. Those letters became Sophie’s new treasures.
In a few month’s time, Sophie’s birthday came by. She had a big ballet themed birthday and invited all her little dancer friends from her dance class. Everything was great except for Camile not being there. The biggest birthday surprise was a letter from her own grandmother, written years ago, before Sophie was even born. It was a very old letter! The letter addressed her unborn granddaughter and in it was written a desire and a hope that the love and passion for dance would be passed on to a new generation. Which by then, Sophie had proved that it had. The letter continued on that if her granddaughter had turned out to be a dancer, then she was to be given a special little nest egg to help her attend a prestigious dancing school. But if her daughter had not turned out the be a dancer, then the money was to go to her collage fund to help her study in her field of choice. Sophie wasnt supposed to receive this money for another couple of years, but now seemed like a better time to give it to her. Her mother’s partime job was meant to suppliment the gift of money and help with moving expenses. Of course, Father contributed, too.
The question was, was Sophie ready to go and leave this place behind? Or did she want to wait a while longer and spend a little more time with her fellow dancers and present instructor? Sophie was overwhelmed by it all. That this gift was built up for her and her passion made her so very happy. But she had not realized that she would be leaving her old life and all her old friends behind. It was a strange mixed up feeling of being happy and sad, and elated and hesitant.
So a week after the party, Sophie decided to take the offer and go to that dance academy. And so it was time to move. Oh, it wasnt all done in a day, there was still some time to spend here. But it wasnt long before Sophie would be on her way, she was going to an actual dance academy, and she was going to train as a ballerina, and she was going to see Camile again. It made her heart soar, even though there were some doubts—would the students be nice? Or snobby? Would the teachers be caring and understanding, or mean and rigid? Would she like her new neighborhood? So many doubts to push past. But! She had already decided!
It was going to be the start of a brand new adventure!
