Little girl dressed in pinkHair all done so cute
The ribbons cascading down
Did she know she'd have a frown?
Watching a funny clown
With a shiny red nose on the t.v.
The silence not bothering her.
Momma walking in so gracefully
Did she know she'd part peacefully?
Turning to look at me
Up on my bed laughing
Smiling down at me
Her prized possession
Did she know she'd cause my depression?
Turning top the left
Entering the doom
Bathroom door now locked
Seconds tick away
As little girl laughs away
Crashing sounds rush to my ears
Did I know this was the beginning of my fears?
Standing up on my bed
Softly jumping down
Rushing to the door of doom
All my pain I must consume
Little hands grasping handle
Turn it til the door swings open
Did I know this was the end?
Could I have predicted?
Rushing to my momma's side
Lifeless body, I must confide
I couldn't look at her in the face
Fear washing through me
Take me over
Sitting on cold tiled floors
My momma's breathing now shallowed
Take her head, place it into innocent hands
Did I know what the plan was?
Stroke raven black hair
As the tears fall down
Crying like a baby
The tears splatter her face
The saltiness of pain
Enters in through my mouth
Hold her tight
As last breath leaves her
Crying harder as little girl loses her mother
Did she know she'd be half of an orphan at the mere age of two?

your most passionate poem so far. you really put your heart into this one and as such the slight grammar flaws and occasional weak statements dont matter at all. its a full on rush of emotions which wraps the reader in your pain. very nice.

wow... i am held speachless. Reading this poem put me in your shoes. Put me in the cute little pink dress you were wearing. Jumping on the bed, waiting for time to fall. It almost sounds as if it is written by that little girl still wearing that very dress... though it is not written in simple language, but it has that feel. i think this is one of my favorites!
