Gretel likes to run a muck in the shadows. She gets around by night and
has a habit for sleeping during the day. [Although sleep is more of a luxury
and not a requirement for the nightmare.]

The girl can be found in children's areas: parks, nurserys, toy shops,
and the like. Rarely does she stray toward adult harboring places.
This is due to her playful and curious nature. Children,as they are
innocent, are not as bothered by Gretel. Adults may feel a sense of
dread if she is wandering about.

Gretel can be terrifying. She throws tantrums when her
way is not taken. There is a rumor that she kidnaps children.

How Gretel came into existence is uncertain. The theory is that a child's fear
of their nightmare gathered enough energy to manifest a physical form.

Not knowing one's purpose is enough to drive someone mad. Gretel felt such
pain. She wandered aimlessly throughout the world for many centuries,
until she happened upon Indieville.

Indieville was, and still is, a quirky little town. She decided to settle down
and wreak havoc there rather than continue her journey. The area was
quiet, dark, and gloomy just as she preferred. It seemed there was an abundance
of oddities that resided within as well.

Gretel never latched onto anyone in the town. In fact, many in the town considered her
an omen. She loves to manifest in happy dreams and consume them - replacing
them with nightmarish fiends and apocalyptic scenarios.

Over time though Gretel became cryptically lonely. She had never really
had contact with any being before - only within dreams. So, she started to
loiter in playgrounds and daycares. It seemed that children were not so frightened
of Gretel, so much as she did not appear in their dreams.

To this day Gretel still shies from forming any bonds. She will try to play with
kids, but is scared off when an adult appears in the vicinity. The nightmare
has grown quite shy.

consumed their previous pleasant one.

Gretel consumes happy dreams because she herself cannot easily feel happiness.

She can appear outside of dreamstates; however, she cannot come into the sun.
Florescent, house lights, etc are okay although she tends to avoid those as well.

The creature named herself Gretel as Hansel and Gretel is her favorite
fairytale.

She never stays in one area of Indieville - so finding her on purpose
may prove difficult.

Gretel does have a 'humanoid' form; however, she prefers to look like a doll.

Her face is typically featureless in her doll state; however, when she does show emotion a
mouth can appear as well as eyes. How many eyes? Well, as many as she pleases.
