Personality: Despite having a somewhat bored expression as her default look, Delilah is actually a really eager and playful person. She constantly wants to please others and have their undying attention, and is a very 'people-person'. She is also somewhat clumsy and headstrong though, and if something doesn't go her way, she will work to make it go her way. If something isn't going to her liking, she's quick to anger.
History: Delilah was born the single daughter of Elenore and Lutz - much to her mother's delight and her father's disappointment. Due to conflicting parent views, she ended up being really close to her mother, whom would spoil the young girl to the ends of the Earth and back. But having no siblings to play with or use up her attention, Delilah grew very dependant on the affection from both her parents to keep her happy. Except that she struggled to keep the attention of her father. Her mother comforted their daughter and tried to keep Delilah's attention on herself, but despite her efforts, Delilah ended up starting to go to extremes to get the attention of her father in the form of injuring herself. He was a doctor, right? If she kept hurting herself in various ways - falling from trees, walking into doors, getting papercuts, etc, surely that would gain his attention if only for a short period of time.
That plan did work out -- but not for as long as the young child wanted it too. One night, her father vanished without a trace; leaving Elenore to raise Delilah by herself. The young Delilah threw a huge tantrum understandably, and during that time, her rot power ended up getting triggered, a large, black mark appearing on her mothers arm. At first it was considered a bruise from bumping into something, but after weeks of not going away, the both of them slowly realised that something terrible was going on. Elenore simply hid the 'bruise' for the most part, continuing to raise Delilah into a young woman, until one day she fainted, and was taken to the nearest hospital to be simply told she was dying, and no one knew why.
Being now bed-stricken, Delilah remained by her mothers side in her final days, learning that her mother had secretly been in contact with their father the entire time he had disappeared, and that she might have a vague idea of where he would be. It ended up being extremely vague, her mother giving Delilah a rather long list of cities he could be in. A day later the woman passed away, leaving everything to her daughter.
Gathering what resources she could, Delilah then ended up travelling from city to city over the years, working her way into journalism as time passed, seeing if newspaper connections could bring her to where her father could potentially be. Soon enough she ended up in Indieville, finding him working at the dentist of all places.
Powers:
- Un-Ageing: She stopped ageing a long time ago, and seems to be stuck in her current appearance.
- Rot: Any living being that Delilah touches with the palm of her hands; they start to physically rot and die. Plants will wither at her touch, whilst on living creatures, a black appears on the area of contact and slowly expands over time as what is akin to poison spreads through the body. Different people have different reactions - eg: someone with a weak immune system would go under faster than someone who is strong. The effects of the rot can take from hours to years to actually kill a person. The best to avoid it is to not touch her hands uncovered.
- Shift:Delilah has multiple shifting abilities, her biggest one being able to shift into a true beastial elderich horror. Although she doesn't do that because it's bad! For the most part though she can shift and grow tentacles from her back, and have up to 12 out at a time. These can grow into different sizes, but she doesn't really use them often either to keep up her "human" look.
Misc:
- Her skin bruises really easily, and she always tends to be covered in them. If one disappears there's no doubt that one will quickly reappear to replace it.
- Her blood looks rather dark at first glance, and on further inspection it's actually black. This also makes her bruises look worse than they are.
- The skin around her fingertips and her toes are stained black, and her veins are slightly more visible around these areas.
- She is constantly wearing bandages around her hands/gloves to hide her fingers and to stop from, killing something.
- Can't keep pets since they keep dying on her, so she ends up just hoarding stuffed animals in place.
- She really dislikes the sensation of dirt and dust as it makes her skin crawl, constantly keeping things around her clean. Her apartment always smells like citrus cleaning products.
- If you hadn't guessed it, Lutz is her father.
