One cold misty Monday morning...or perhaps Tuesday... An unrelenting hunger for shellfish drove me and my friend to the very edges of San Francisco. After a long ride of the Bart train we expected crowds, we expected lights and people. But because it was a workday and we had gotten there so early even Bubba Gumps wasn't open yet. I had never seen the usually crowded pier so quiet.I had to take a picture.

I have never seen the pier so empty before in my life... Darn, my 'silent watcher' status has just been ruined. Oh well, while I'm at it, have you been to the Rodney Lough gallery there? It's my favorite part of the pier! I would go there every day if I could, just to see that gallery. It's beautiful.

It is a little tucked away. If I remember right, it should be to the left of that shop full of magnets and souvenirs on the other side of the caracole (from where this picture was taken, that is), right next to a door that leads out to where the sea lions are. I highly recommend you try to find it next time you go to Pier 39! Itβs definitely worth a trip!
