Don't get me wrong, it's just a joke
I don't hate the supposed real father of Rainbow Dash, I'm not mad. I just hoped for more of a... Manly daredevil kinda pony. And not one with rainbow hair. I do like it but it's not very original. Other then that he does't look bad. Blitz does think so. And when he saw this pony down the streets of Cloudsdale, he was all "Dude, somehow I don't like that dude." But he doesn't know whyyyy 
For people who don't get the joke, Lightning Blitz was my version of RD's father together with my version of her mother, Sunset Breeze.
And before some go all "Didn't you expect Hasbro to give her a real dad?!" Yes I did. I created Blitz for fun. Even when she propably haves a real dad now, Blitz will stay one of my characters, only with a slightly different story.
Please, don't take this to seriously guys.

Honestly, I like Blitz better than the other guy, He has more of a creative feel and a way WAY better touch of creativity. Plus I really can't be so sure if he's Dashie's father or not. MLP has always been vague when it comes to parents. But if he is, I wouldn't say don't let that bother your already established story line, it's best just to keep it as it is in a sort of alternative universe.
Buuut that's just me rambling.

I think Spectrum being RD's older brother may be at least a reasonable explanation, regarding her tomboyish personality and just... RD in general. She'd be likely to have a cooler older brother, if you know what I mean.
That being said, I prefer your version of her dad way more than Spectrum's design. Yes, also because of the goatee. He looks super cool, haha

Dash having a father that isn't predictably a bad-ass daredevil is actually a bit cuter, to me. Going from the Firefly fanon concept for example, it's fully possible Dash got her attitude from her mom, leaving her dad to be this softer-spoken parental figure that tries to keep her out of trouble
