"This is a revamp of the older Mileena where she was wearing the more Asian robe and using dragon fire magic.

In this revamp, Mileena is still an overpowered, bad ass mother fucker. But rather than simply using fire, she uses dragon magic in conjunction with her mastery of the blade as one of the elite 9 Cuts, a selection of the 9 most skilled and loyal warriors acting directly under the Queen of Maridia. Autonomous and decentralized, the 9 Cuts act as they desire so long as they act with good faith in the name of the Queen, and towards the defeat or absolute destruction of humanity's enemies; the elves of the Grand Empire of Sidereus.

Mileena is the youngest, and currently the weakest, member of the 9 Cuts, and she has a massive gap to fill before she's ready to attempt to move above even the 8th Cut. But she has been given what is, by far, the most important task that could spell doom or survival for their home and their people. A simple, four word directive from the Queen herself; "Bring my son home." Now she ventures, alone and far from home, across a land infested with demons, elves, and insane humans who worship their beautiful masters. So, traveling the land like a gunslinger chasing a man across a vast desert, Mileena sets out.

However, finding the Prince proved to be quite... simple, really. All she had to do was follow the path of destruction he left in his wake in his desire to liberate his homeland. The truly difficult part, however, is trying to convince him to go back home...

Mileena has some obvious inspirations, first and foremost being Vergil from Devil May Cry. Specifically in combat ability. I don't really do the stoic type characters, and the only stoic female characters I can recall nowadays are those who are poorly created for some dumb ass feminist agenda like Captain Marvel. Rather, Mileena is hot headed, but fiercely loyal to her country and her people, often putting herself in harm's way if it means she can try to bring somebody back to the side of Maridia. She's loving, but stern and picks out a flaw in a person close to her only in a well-meaning attempt to help them be better, though her often flat way of delivering this information comes across as a blunt insult.

Another influence beyond characters who utilize fast, stylish swordplay based on Iaido and other Japanese kenjutsu are, and I am sorry to say this, Shinobi. The 9 Cuts are a shadowy group that cops heavily from Shinobi tactics even though, as a general rule, not one of them are true shinobi. And there's no uniform look to them. Mileena looks completely different from say, the 2nd Cut, who prefers a magical, and more indirect approach. Or from the 4th Cut, who's a shadowy sniper that none of the other Cuts have ever seen."
