Description

The Rak’Shasa PMC was founded by Krimve Petrakis, named after the bloodthirsty and flesh-devouring demons from Hindu mythology.

When Petrakis served her tenure as head warden of the ArmsTech-owned prison colony of Purgatory, she had plans of mutiny in mind from the very beginning. Her style of command gained her many followers and loyal soldiers on the station, believing in her goal of a galactic civilization built from strength and unity, forgoing false promises and corrupt politicians. The corporate side of ArmsTech soon held little influence over the personnel station on Purgatory, and in a few short months Petrakis had almost every soldier under her personal banner.
With the reluctantly-allied Jorhan Slagle as her second-in-command and the up-and-coming Maurice Ridden willing to aid her, a full-scale mutiny was launched inside the space prison. Maurice’s proficiency in a starfighter allowed Petrakis to focus her teams on hacking the station’s mainframe to cut it off from the main ArmsTech network, while Maurice made short work of ArmsTech-allied frigates stationed outside.
In only two long hours, the station was the property of Rak’Shasa, the newly-minted PMC that would haunt the Cornarian Defence Force four standard years later. The inmates aboard were given two options: be jettisoned out into space via lifepods and wait for rescue, or join their growing army. Almost all of the inmates chose the latter, and were quickly - and effectively - trained as soldiers, engineers, recon specialists or communications officers.
A year after the mutiny, during a salvage operation on planet Venom, a clone of Andrew Oikonny was discovered and released. Recognizing Rak’Shasa’s own hatred for Cornaria, he quickly sided and was made admiral of their growing fleet of stolen warships.
Rak’Shasa is comprised of 3 main bodies:
The Gundogs - Jorhan’s personal sub-division, focusing on demolitions, search-and-destroy, shock-and-awe attacks and anything that involved more violence than was worth the trouble. Jorhan was a brutally-effective commander, with many of his officers taking after his ruthless personality.
Rak’Ekta - Petrakis’ personal guard, focusing on reconnaissance, assassinations, information-gathering, sabotage and work that required a more subtle hand. At Petrakis’ discretion, she would pull the strings of the galaxy towards her goal of Cornaria’s destruction, starting with the holo-net.
Falmer Squadron - Maurice’s starfighter wing, focusing on anything that required the use of starfighter, including hunter-killer missions, escort assignments and patrol. A misspelling of his original idea, Maurice planned to name his new squadron after his favourite flight teacher from university, Isaak Falmel. He was simply too polite to bother asking the engineer staff to redo the logo, and Falmer Squadron stuck.
