This is stunning! I don't really understand photography but this looks amazing nonetheless. I like Classical architecture but the Gothic style is just in a whole category of its own; nothing else can compare.

It's sad that such attention to detail in architecture isn't being observed today! What a beautiful building!

This is fantastic!

Your HDRs are so beautiful. I appreciate that you don't over-do the technique.. or leave a lot of noise like lesser experience photographers.

Nice work. : )

I can see why this is (one of) your favorite photos ... There is so much detail, so chaotic, which in this context is ironic.
Good work.

HDR can make a picture so nice or ruin it. It depends on how it's used. Try it and make some experiments

As you know HDR come to help when there are big differences of light, but you can really used it in every situation, just take a look on dA and you will see

MaxiiLS In reply to Luke-ro [2008-11-25 15:28:07 +0000 UTC]

Yeah - I have seen some great examples.

Im just not sure where, I, could use it.

So with yours - did you take 5 at different dof's? So it was all in focus??

Sorry to over analyse but I would love to understand.

Luke-ro In reply to MaxiiLS [2008-11-25 15:36:42 +0000 UTC]

No problem, really
I took 3 different shoots, the camera did the bracketing, +1, 0, -1 expositions. At the time i took pictures in jpg, so i must took 3 pics, now i take pics in raw and i can change the exposition from 1 single pic.
I took this picture without a tripod, i put the camera on something to not move and i used the timer, to not move it and i was lucky! If you will take 3 different pics be sure to use a tripod, it's SO important, or at least try to do as i did.

It looks like a pencil drawing because it contains so much fine detail. I love Gothic architecture and this is one of the best photographs i have seen that captures the intricate but grand nature of the Gothic style.
