A Lesson in The Heart of the Cards
If Yugi's in a tight spot, he chants 'Heart of the Cards' and pulls an Egyptian God.

MY Heart of the cards: Slipping my two cards into one card dust thingy-ma-gog and when shuffling (My friend says I have to shuffle it myself, 'cause he doesn't like me touching his cards.) hold it in my hand so it will defiantly get on top. I don't cheat at all!

He was the protagonist of the show. That automatically grants him near immunity to any and all losses. And that allows him to play with very little skill or strategy within his deck.
Seriously, the bulk of the cards in his deck are random as hell. lol
