Brooding! I love the 'steam' (that's my interpretation) off the beast's back: just glad I'm not there for fodder!

I remember reading your process on one of the other dog pics, on cg society or something, and it was frankly bewildering. But that just adds to the magic of these zone characters of yours. Perfect pose and silhouette and immensely engaging textures. Kudos mate.
Am I to assume you're going to animate one of these?? even a simple walk/run cycle would be great to see.

Ah if I recall there was some tricky looking modeling and UV mapping etc?. I'm fairly comfortable with 3ds max but I always find mapping and more complex modeling a chore. I also use 3d almost exclusively for work, which is always for clean smooth renders, using it to create abstraction patterns seems a foreign concept to me. But I suppose 3d isn't going away, I should probably get back to learning and experimenting again..
Anyway will keep an eye on your blog and here for someone interacting with your dogs, sounds exciting!. Hope it all goes well for you mate.

I like this! Looks to me like it's a literal "Junkyard Dog". Nothing much else to say, except that this is gonna be a favorite of mine. XD
