Torn, Jak, Ashelin, Daxter and Tess of Jak IIOkay, ever hear of those How to Draw Manga books by Hikaru Hayashi? Well, you should. They rock. Anyways, one of the few I have is the illustrating battles one and in it are about two pages of head-locks. Now, a while ago, I got bored and decided to flip thru said book for the hell of it and fell upon said pages. You can guess what happened next cuz tis staring you straight in the face.
So yeah, now on to WHY Torn is putting Jak in a head-lock. In all truth...I'unno. Doesn't seem like Jak knows either. He probably called Torn the browless wonder one too many times. Or gloated about going on a date with Ashelin (-twitch twitch-) Seriously, I'unno. As for the peanut gallery back there, I just felt there should be witnesses to this brief moment of Torn OOC-ness
Colored version may or may not appear in the future. I'unno 'bout that neither.

if he can do this to jak the hero-boy then imagine what he can do to daxter with his hand. don't tick torn off or you might end up with a metal head shoved up your posterior. lol

I think what happened was Torn was told he was way to serious all the time so he dose this but he remebers all the times Jak has ticked him off or sent him off the deep and and thats were the angrey exspretion on Torns face comes from. Dose that sound good?

Jak may be da Hero, but Torn's got experience and seniority. I bet he could kick Jak's ass if he reeeeeeeeeeally wanted to.
I usually avoid 'How-To-Draw-Manga' books as I always find them pretty repetitive. This one sounds interesting though...I better keep an eye out for it!
I must say, I'm pretty impressed with how you draw hair in general. There always appears to be the right amount of flow and thickness to it.

^^ I'm glad you like it! Hair is fun at times, I guess, but others...well especially with my characters, it seems to have it out for me XD How-to-Draw-Manga books can be a load of crap >_> Most are. All the american ones anyways. I just get them for refs. But the series by Hikaru Hayashi is gold ^^ If you happen to run into one at like B&N or Waldens, don't hesitate to flip thru ^^
as for Jak vs. Torn in a fight...no contest XD Gotta go wit Tattooed Wonder. I bet he knows karate

I looove the details in this, specifically with Torn and Jak. I love the girls and Daxter in the back, too, but the outfits, faces, and hair of Torn and Jak are drawn so well.
And I've always loved these drawings done in a single hue. They either seem to turn out really well or the effect of a single color is just really nice, but for one reason or another, I really like the idea.
Anywho, good job with the silly pic, sweety. ^^ -huggles-

I have that book! And a few others... *glances at pile on her bookshelf* There really needs to be another couples book - I love using the poses in these.

hehe, amen to that! Which ones in the series do you have? I have the battle, occult and horror (it had a neko girl on the front, I was misled XD ) and designing characters. I need to get the couples one XD Thanks for commenting!

I have "Compiling Characters", "Bishoujo - Pretty Gals", "Illustrating Battles", "Bodies & Anatomy", "Male Characters", and the couples book I previously mentioned. I also have "Bodies and Emotions" from the 'Let's Draw Manga' series (lots of different poses in there ^_^), and Vol 2. of the 'How to Draw Anime and Game Characters' series. Most of these books were given to me as gifts. They have a lot of different poses and things - I draw inspiration from them a lot.
I think animegamers.com is selling their in-stock books for 5 bucks a piece, so it's worth checking out. I know I would if I got a bigger paycheck in, and would actually be permitted to buy stuff (not allowed to buy anything since it's too close to my birthday...).

You know.. now that I Think about it, I think I do have those one of those books... they are really thing though... I have the "how to draw Manga" and teh book you mentioned. hmm... well, i guess i just plain forgot I had them.. lol!

I would think so, seeing as that's where I got it XD Also look for "MORE How to draw manga". Tis the continuation of the series and is the most resent so the art in it is glorious ^^ good luck getting it! Thanks for commenting too ^^
