So... I went to see Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest yesterday. And it had lots of tentacley things in it. Including a Kraken, which is like TEH COOLEST mythical thing evah. And not quite mythical, although giant squids don't exactly eat boats... Or Johnny Depp. Giant Squids almost never eat Johnny Depp. But really. Between seeing that movie, and the octopi at the Monterrey Aquarium a few weeks ago, I really, really wanted to draw something with suckers and tentacles.And this was the result. Sketched, inked, and CGed in under two days. Probably one of the fastest full CGs I've ever done.
(But really - is there some new rule that if you heavily CGI your main villan, he can't have a nose?)

so the octopi davy jones should have had a nose? i think that would look a bit akward. besides he had a shorter hollow tentacle that probably served as a breathing orifice.

I thought that flat face looked kind of weird, yeah. And too similar to Voldemort in the movie of GoF.
Actually, I think real octopi do have little hollow tubes like that... they're used for jet propulsion.
