Introduction
Hey everyne! This is just a small note to thank everyone who has voted in my poll as well as watched, favored, commented, and supprted my art thus far! To show my appreciation this tutorial was born! I hope this will help everyone with making an egg of your own.
Just a reminder these are not the same as the eggs featured on my art page, these are instructinos on how to make a simpler verson with cheaper, more available materials.

Disclaimer
Some of the following steps to create this project may prove to be dangerious and hazardous to ones’s well being, please creat with causion and care.
Parental guidance is suggested for some steps
Please be extra careful, but have fun!

Step 1:
For this project you will need
1 , 2 to 3 inch plastic easter egg
Regular school glue
Crafting glue
Ripped up news paper
White acylic paint
One dispossable paint brush
2 regular paint brushes
Any color acrylic paint
Liquid or spray glaze
(optional) Acrylic matt meduim (AMM)

Using AMM allows the egg to have a smoother surface and using liquid glaze allowsfor a longer lasting finish for your egg if you plan on carring it all the time

Step 2: lets get started!!!
Firstly tape, or glue your egg closed so it wont pop open when you hold it too tight For some added fun place a bell or some beads inside so it makes a cute sound when it rattles.

Now rip up your newspaper into little pieces.

Mix your glue in a disposable cup with equal part craft glue and school glue for an extra sticky hold, if you only use one its fine too.
Using your disposable brush, brush some glue on to the egg, then proceed to place the news paper pieces on the egg, try to make them folds and creases as flat against the egg as possible. This is just like paper mache.

Step 3
Once you’ve completely covered your egg, let it dry for about 30 minutes to an hour. To keep it from sticky to your production area, use an old soda bottle cap to keep it from rolling around.
Once its dry put a second round of newspaper pieces on it.

Now let it dry.

Step 4 (optional)
Now that you’re done, to make a nice smooth surface for you egg, lets paint on some acrylic matt medium, to apply collect a little lump of it on your paint brush, dab it on then gently drag it along the surface, making sure to cover all the bumps from the newspaper
Once you’re done let it sit to dry till it has clay like feel. The matt cracks a little when it dries so fill in those cracks as best as you can. Let it sit to dry till it feels like clay again, now, move it around in your hands and smooth out bumps so it’s nice and smooth. Now if it’s a nice dry day it can be dry in a matter of 2 hours or so. If its humid and damp outside from rain, it may take longer to dry.
If you’re really in a rush try a fan or a hair dryer set on cool.
Once your done with your AMM and its completely dry, or if you skipped over that step and its just newspaper, GENTLY get some sand paper and buff out any bumps out. Be careful on the newspaper so it does not rip or tare.
A simple way to do it is if you lay your paper on the table and drag the egg gently across it. I CAN NOT STRESS TO BE GENTLE!!!

If you happen to have not been gentle and your tore up the newspaper or sanded down the AMM too much, just reapply newspaper or the AMM and let it dry.

Step 5
Now that your egg is completely dry its time to move on to painting.
If your egg has a light color background like dia’s or Kinseki’s egg (yellow, light blue, pink etc) you need to have a primer, which is basically plain white paint. So… simply paint your egg, white, so your lighter color will easily show up on it without having to apply a million coats of paint. If your egg is a dark color, you can skip the primer.
If you have a geometric design like Kasukasu or even Yuro, or even a band around it like all of Amu’s chara’s now’s the time to pencil it in so it can easily paint it later.

If your making Yuro’s egg, here is a little suggestion, get a piece of duck tape and cut a 1x1 inch piece of tape make the back less sticky then it usually is, and then stick it to your egg and pencil in the diamond design.
Now you can just go ahead and paint anything your want.

Step 6 (this can get tricky and dangerous if you’re not careful, if you need help ask a parent.) this is also optional
After you let this egg dry, and the paint is completely set, now its time to put in a key ring or chain or whatever you want.
You will need a metal stick with a decently pointy edge. (The ones in pottery kits are perfect!)
A candle, and matches.
Your chain, and sticky tape.
Light your candle with your matches and place your metal pointy stick in the fire, when it starts to turn a dull orange your ready to go.
CAREFULLY!!!! Poke it through the top of the egg, so it goes through one end and comes through the other. If you can’t push it through the other; Reheat the stick and try it again, till you have a hole through and through, as if your egg was a big bead. Do NOT breath in fumes, fumes from plastic are very bad for your health so have proper ventilation.
ALSO make sure your hole is big enough that your chain can go through.
Once your poker is cooled, (if your in a rush run it under cold water for a few seconds) and re poke it through your egg. Once your see the pointy end, tape your chain to your stick and pull it, basically your threading the chain through the egg.
LAST STEP!
Glazing.

Glazing is great it keeps your paint job from chipping or wearing away with constant love and use. So you can either use liquid glaze or spray, both are good, but I personally prefer liquid glaze as it seems to last longer and it gives a more brilliant shine.
FIRSTLY USE ANY GLAZE IN PROPERLY VENTALATED AREAS!
If you’re using liquid glaze, use a disposable paint brush and apply from top to bottom, until its fully covered.
If your using spray glaze, shake well first then go back and forth in short sprits till its covered. Let it dry then do this two more times for a nice strong coat of glaze.
While, wet for either glazes, u can now apply glitter for a nice sparkly finish. If you want.

And your done!!!! ENJOY!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!

the best I can say is to use plastic easter eggs, if you want to get them now, check out ebay, fastest and easiest way to find the plastic ones. or, in some craft stores they sell wooden egg shapes all year long. good luck!
