Makes me want to go Shadow and say: "MARRIIIAAAAA!!!" (Oh... It's only a dream!) XXD
Incredible effort put into the human emotion behind this drawing - for those fans of the Shadow story, they will no doubt be embracing this - it's like her last moments.
The only difference is I have never seen an expression like that coming from Maria... It's almost like... She's wanting you (i.e. Shadow) to remain diligent even after knowing the fact that you'll be separated from her... She doesn't look the slightest bit of upset at all here... Which is contrasting to what you see usually in most Maria fan-art.
So yes merit goes to doing something original, different and pretty darn well in just under 60 minutes. Great work LunarMew.

Well, Maria was always sort of an "enigma" to me. A simplistic bg with a dead stare from the character seemed suited for her. Also, it is a nice excuse for me not to have to spend time on a background. lol

Lovely work on the detail here! Makes me want to try and draw Maria, which is inspiring.. Especially since I don't often draw humans.

Thanks. ^^ I am thinking of trying different methods from the one I used in this artwork to see if I can get better results. Maybe nitpicking the heck out of the tones in grayscale wasn't the best idea. I should have just jumped straight to color. lol

That is strange. To me, Maria is the easiest to draw, which is why I did a speedpaint on her in the first place. Probably because I spend more time drawing humans, though. Ironically, I didn't finish...
