It's great and all that you are able to draw up your own map as you go in Etrian Odyssey, but make sure you actually draw...you know...the map. Otherwise, something like this could happen.Also, buy Etrian Odyssey. Atlus needs your money, and this is one of their best releases in quite some time.

I startet to play the first and second so far (the first came to a stop, because i didn't want to attempt genocide on the wood-tribe in there) and the second, i'm on the 5th floor. It's sort of funny how bad Ronin and druids were in the first game and in the second they just rock everything! xDΒ
On the other side the Landsknecht in the first game was a biest and in the second one pretty lame.Β
And now i've got to figure out how to get those pesky imps away from the Chimera, they annoy me. xD

In the begining of the game getting to the 3rd floor really does feel like the millionth floor! Started playing Etrian Odyssey II a few days ago and the first stratum is really kicking my ass! lol

Drawing your own map (to ensure the party's survival, as we can see here) was one of the things I liked best! It really emphasized the exploration aspect of the game!

Well....the Survivalist...heΒ΄s alot like me...in fact: he IS me in EO 1. Namend the Survivalist Ashura and gave it a female shape..oh well.
And right now I remeber the many times my map was incorrect (a wall drawn were is none and such...). This one is great XD!

I'm only on the 18th floor right now. I played it like crazy until I got distracted by other games(in college, you pretty much have to devote your life to Super Smash Bros Melee, Guitar Hero II, Halo or all 3 simultaneously -_-) and even my portable gaming was interrupted the day Luminous Arc hit shelves. I'm an sRPG freak, so LA has been amazing for me, but I plan on finish Etrian soon.

I wanna play LA so badly but I want the Japanese version (I prefer Japanese voices and famous VAs from japan rather than US VAs). It's so hard to find. Btw, LA2 is coming out eventually! The Japanese website is out already! Also, have you ever played Disgaea?

Oh, absolutely, Disgaea is fantastic. I still need to finish post-game eventually though(I might be the only one who played Disgaea for its story mode alone and then set it aside to play another game...)

You're not alone XD I beat Disgaea for story mode (twice since I wanted the "good" and normal ending) and never touched it again. Disgaea 2 is horrible. Btw, I thought the normal ending was much better than the good one.
