Here it is. Here is the Smiler. He looks nothing like I planned other than the smile and I guess the mask.

Bio: The Smiler is a notorious serial killer who is known to sneak into unsuspecting people's homes and basically hide in either their closets or under their beds for periods of time. He waits until his intended victim's are asleep and comes out of hiding to watch them sleep with a permanent smile. If the person is lucky that is all he will do for the first couple of nights at least, then progressively he'll start to do more characteristically demented and serial killer type of things. If he hasn't killed his victim within a week then he's either deemed them not worthy of killing or he's planning something 'special' for them. Lastly if a victim wakes up while he is watching them he'll make sure the last thing they saw was his smiling face. He carries around a trash bag with miscellaneous items he takes from his victims, this can include normal stuff like glasses or even a wig to more morbid things like body parts.

How does his schizophrenia affect him?
His schizophrenia isn't really bad enough for him to think the victim is anyone/anything else. More he'll hear the voices in his head telling him what to do to the victim.
What does he do with the items he collects? Does he keep them or sell them?
He'll keep the items for a while as memorabilia but eventually he'll dispose of them as to not get caught, though if it's something he considers special he'll keep it for as long as he can.
Is he poor or does he just like to wear the same clothes while killing?
He is a poor person and keeps on the same clothes for as long as he can since the only other way to get clothes is to steal them from victims that happen to fit him. That's rare though as he has a weird attachment to his clothes leading him to wear them until they are just tattered to shreds.

Neat! Although kitchen knives are not a very adequate weapon choice for murder. The medal the blade is made from is cheap and flimsy and would most likely break the first few stabs into the chest cavity. There is also little to no grip on the handle. Most people's killers in stabbings are caught due to slices on their palms. This happens when they try to stab. As the tip of the blade is being pushed the attacker's hand could slide down the handle and eventually down the blade, causing injury. I suggest ANYTHING but a kitchen knife.

Thanks. Ok. Well I listed that this character would use anything he finds at a crime scene so for the most part it probably wouldn't even be a kitchen knife he'd use for the murder. Though he carries around a butcher's knife in his trash bag of goodies in case there's nothing for him to use, he also also wears thick black gloves that I would guess protect him from those pesky knicks and cuts from blades like those.

At first I was like "Oh no... not another Jeff the Killer"... but then I read his info and I adored this character. He as nothing similar to Jeff besides smiling all the time (thought in this case is much more realistic).
I would really like to know what his schizophrenia does to him, thought. Does it make him see his victim as something else or does it affect him in other ways?
I do like how he "gets to know" the victim before killing them, but what does he do with the stuff he takes. Does he sell it? Keep it as a trophy?
Is he a poor person or just likes to wear those clothes during his killings?

I tried to avoid the whole Jeff the killer thing when making this guy as I've done with all my horror characters.

Yeah I totally understand the "trying to avoid the popular characters". I am still waiting for a hardcore fan of Sally coming to attack me for my Creepypasta "Ina" as she is a ghost of a little girl. XI So yeah I feel you but it was just a first impression. After checking him out (this sounds weird XD) you can clearly see the differences being the only similarity like I said the fact that they smile all the time.
But really thank you for answering all these questions. I just felt like they were needed to be answered as they quite relevant to his character. Good luck on developing him

Right. I mean the whole idea for this character came from the frightful idea of what if you woke up in the middle of the night to just a random stranger standing near you just smiling eerily, not moving or anything. Just smiling. Then the rest kind of just sort of happened. I wanted to make him creepier but then was thinking that would be over the top so instead tried to make him look as he does now. Still not completely satisfied with his hair since that was the one thing I couldn't settle on at all. I don't think it ended up looking disheveled enough but I also didn't want it to look super crazy and all over the place so maybe that could be the one thing he keeps 'perfect' on him. I don't know yet though.

I do think that is a pretty interesting topic as that is an idea that a lot of people think as the idea of having objects that disappear without a trace. The idea of having someone stare down at you is pretty terrifying as he doesn't kill people because "lolololo why not?".
