Characters: Ibiki and Amaya

Sometimes - and recently more often then not - I get the strong urge to just draw these two together without having a much to deep concept or idea at hand. Luckily I have a decent amount of sketches just waiting (or rather hoping xD) to be turned into full pieces

So, when said urge crawled under my skin, yet again, I chose this sketch to be fleshed out, because it‘s still one of my personal favorites. I think it captures an important aspect of their bond quiet nicely - Ibiki being a patient, yet strict teacher to Amaya.
Even though I do enjoy playing around with a - what I call it - Father-Daughter-Dynamic between them, I don‘t want the other (and in my canon more prominent) side of their relationship to go under. Which simply is a Mentor-Apprentice-Dynamic. Canonly Ibiki is a very strict superior, leader and therefore for sure mentor and there‘s no way I want to change that. Because that makes him Ibiki and I wouldn‘t have fallen for him, otherwise   Luckily Amaya is used to harsher tones and got used to it, pretty soon.

I‘ve been working on this piece for quiet a while now - on and of, because motivation came and went and I wasn‘t sure where to go for a good amount of time. Until i just let go and let happen whatever may happen and I think the result is pretty much okay
I‘m currently in a pretty experimental state with my traditional art - testing out different papers, mixing and shading methods and what not. So if you spot any weird looking textures or even scratches on the paper - please forgive me  I know I will not use this paper anymore xD
